Won, and received 800 points! Pet ownership is a hard thing. New kittens are so lovely, soft and full of energy. And when you have them, one can't help but glow. With kittens, it's like everyday is a birthday! And with a promising future full of birthdays!
But then, what if suddenly, those birthdays are cut short? That, despite your best efforts and all the love in the world, that kitten has a tough road ahead. All those birthdays you were planning are taken away. And with them goes all the color and energy in your life.
My kitten is very, very sick with a problem that will need drastic, aggressive surgery to solve. Until then, if that's even an option for us because everything but euthanasia is so fucking expensive, we just have to make her comfortable. She just turned a year old. And god dammit, I wanted more birthdays. These emotions were very hard for me to translate onto paper.
Inspired by the weekly contests held by Inspired by Dickens' A tale of two cities. The phrase is, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," And what we could imagine to that. Currently, right now, I know nothing both amazing and agonizing as loving a pet.

- I am very touched by your artwork and the story behind it, especially because i am a cat owner who went to hell and back to save my cat. It still brings me down when i remember what we had to go through until she got better, so i understand what you're going through right now. I wish there was something i could do to make you and your baby feel better

Your attention makes me feel special. I had reached out to rather blindly, just hoping for a feature or some sort of nod, just to spread information. So any promotion really helps. I had even tried to take my best photo of her, and me not being a photographer, to better attract interest (Because I can't draw cats for crap 
On the internet I had found many questions, but not many answers. Everything seemed like Speculation. So I hoped to add some more concrete information. I have a ton more, even about prices especially, but I don't know if that's very 'captivating'. Cat Chemo, Cat Radio therapy, kitty cat scans, ect.
We're moving Mountains trying to do the right thing for her comfort and longevity. Shes family, which makes it both harder and more important to do it. And I did this piece in the beginning of our journey, it was just raw, conflicted happiness and bitterness. Now,as this gets so much more complicated, nothing is nearly as black and white as 'Happy or Sad'.

I know that pain all too well. Β I actually got one of my names from one of my cats after she died. Β I've lived long enough to know it almost as an old friend. Β We currently have two cats, a brother and a sister about 2 years old and every so often I dread that one might go first. Β I'm not sure how the other will ever stand being alone. Β The only thing I can do is try no think about that moment. Β I wish you luck.

I'm sorry for your cat and I hope your Kitten Feels better, I really do! this Piece is really close to my heart to because this year my cat I had for 10 year past away. I really hope you and your kitten can have many more birthdays and holidays and wonderful times together, for a long time.

I'm so, so sorry your baby is sick. When I got my cat Ember she was so ill we didn't know if she would pull through or not but she ended up making it through. I still remember how emotional it is. I wish I could give you a hug through the Internet but I hope things take a turn for the better.
