Description Hey! Are you looking for some cheap, affordable toys of your favourite ponies? Maybe you can't afford the real ones? Or maybe you just don't want to go and buy girl's toys? Well today is your lucky day, thanks to these standees!

You will need:
Scissors
Glue (glue stick, preferably)
One A4 sheet of white card (I know what you're thinking. You're thinking you could get away with white paper. It won't work. You'll just get a really floppy standee. Don't say I didn't warn you.)

Method
1. Download the full size image and print it to an A4 sheet of card.
2. Cut around each double-pony so that you have six symmetrical shapes. Try to be careful cutting around awkward shapes like Pinkie's hair and the Pegasus Ponies' wings. If you're young, get an adult to help you with scissors.
3. Fold each pony over the baseline so you get a double-sided pony. Glue the inside of each standee and then leave to dry. I left each of mine to dry overnight under an encyclopedia to make sure they were flattened.
4. When they're dry, cut two slats into the base. I've provided lines for where you should cut them.
5. Cut out the twelve "picket fences" pieces, being sure to cut down the thick lines in the center.
6. Slot each picket fence piece into one of the slats on each pony's base. They probably won't go at right angles, so make sure that if they tilt, tilt them at opposite angles.

When you've finished, they should look something like this. They stand at about six centimetres tall, about the size of your average flash drive.

Be sure to take pictures of them! I'd love to see them!

Images are from promotional materials and are the property of Hasbro.

Addendum: I just realised that step 6 might be unclear. Basically, if you're looking at the standee from the underside, it should look like this:
---/-----------\---

Does that help?

EDIT: *Tyrranux made a pretty incredibly silly board game to go with these ponies! You can find it here: [bears]

There is none. Those are 3D papercrafts. These are 2D paperdolls. They're entirely separate things.

I know. I guess that's sort of what I meant by that. they can't be compared, as they are two entirely separate things...

So far, I have only made Twilight Sparkle, but mine seemed to come out alright. I found that using a pocketknife to slice out the part between the legs and the tail on worked quite well for me. However, make sure you are slicing on something that can get cut up, instead of something that shouldn't have knife marks in it, like a desk that isn't yours or a leg.

TheLastGherkin In reply to lukeschett [2011-04-21 21:50:50 +0000 UTC]

Very good advice! I don't have a pocketknife handy, and last time I tried to cut with one it didn't turn out too well... but it's probably ideal for expert crafters!

Do you have a photo of your Twilight? I'd love to see it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lukeschett In reply to TheLastGherkin [2011-04-21 23:36:31 +0000 UTC]

I'm not really a master crafter, I'm just a Boy Scout and good with knives. I actually just finished with all of them, and I have a bad quality photo. I don't own a camera, so I had to take the picture with my DSi. [link]
