[Update: 07/08/2017] New app means new app art- for Adelaide, anyways. I apparently just like having an excuse to draw new art for my children, whoops--
On top of new art, I also edited the overall profile a bit (especially the personality section because wow Adelaide you have changed so much since I first made you-) and added a proper Relationships section! If I missed anyone Addy's interacted with, please let me know! I had trouble remember who she's talked to;;;
I also added a new reference in the "Misc" section for Adelaide's design without the sweater. This ref also includes an alternate bang style (if you get fed up with braids like I do xD) so check it out~
"Never underestimate the power of a smile!"

Birthday: February 19th (Pisces)
Height / Weight: 5'0 ft (~152cm) | 120 lbs (~54.4 kg)

Noticeable Features:
With brown hair and brown eyes Adelaide doesn't have a particularily vibrant appearance, and her height makes her fairly easy to overlook - or, at least it would make her easily overlooked, if not for the girl's rather lively personality.

[ Optimistic | Cheerful | Lively | Determined | Airheaded | Naive | Secretive | Oblivious ]
If Adelaide had to be summed up in one word it would have to be "bubbly": she's an extremely cheerful person who always seems to be in high spirits. And, as someone who enjoys socializing, she has a habit of fluttering around, meeting, greeting, and spreading cheer to whomever crosses her path. Smiles are contagious after all, and a little positivity never hurts.
With a tendency to prioritize happiness over reality, however, she often turns a blind eye to conflict and will sometimes only confront deeper issues when forced to. This emphasizes an airheaded - and especially naive - disposition which has the potential to harm herself and the people are her. Small disputes, on the other hand, are manageable, and she often confronts these quickly out of fear that they may become considerably more serious is left alone.
Because she likes to avoid conflict whenever possible, Adelaide often suppresses feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loneliness. She doesn't like to burden others (and more importantly, refuses to drag anyone down with her) so even when she's going through a rough time she will wear a smile like a mask. And, with a hard-earned talent for acting, she's become proficient at summoning convincing smiles. Perhaps as a result of suppressing these emotions, Adelaide isn't good at gauging other people's thoughts/feelings - which is usually the result of just being too oblivious to pick up on minor cues.
Likes / Dislikes:
✔ Has something of an adoration for art and architecture- though she is definitely more of an admirer than an expert
✔ Historical fiction is a pretty cool genre. (Historical non-fiction, however, is much less interesting)
✔ Flowers are lovely things~ Especially any kind that comes in bright, vibrant colours
✔ Rain (There's just something very cleansing about it)
✔ Plays/Movies/Musicals- She has a very obvious bias for anything that involves acting
✔ Signs of affection (Especially when cuddling is involved)
✔ Riddles (Finds them interesting, but is actually really bad at solving them)
✔ When people play with or brush her hair (that's part of why she keeps it long)
✔ Clothes/fashion in general, but loves costumes above all. She gets super excited for the final few rehearsals since it means she gets to wear her costume for the first time
✔ Baking, especially cakes and cookies (Because then she gets to eat and share all kinds of desserts. Also, generally, sweet things make people happy)
✘ Cold weather (//Gestures to what she's wearing)
✘ Being ignored
✘ Being manipulated/taken advantage of
✘ Tea (Green tea is the only exception)
✘ Open, empty spaces (More of an irrational fear than anything)
✘ Any sort of supernatural phenomena- being trapped in the mansion has amplified her discomfort with these things
✘ THE TOP SHELF OF ANYTHING - the bane of her existence. So much unnecessary struggling-

The first daughter born to an average, well-off family, Adelaide was both her parent's experiment child (as they tried to figure out how to do proper parenting), and the ideal to whom they would compare their second child. A dedicated student and social butterfly from even her earlier years, Adelaide gave her parents no reason to complain, leaving her parents attention to fall entirely onto her mischievous little sister. Despite the occasional bouts of tension that would fall onto the Padmore household, the family was close, and the children couldn't have asked for more loving parents.
Volunteer work was a common pastime that the four made into tradition when certain volunteer-run events would come back yearly. A family favourite was a small community-run series of theater productions, whose proceeds went to fund local projects and charities. There was a wide range of jobs available, so there was a little something for everyone wanting to contribute. Where her parents fluttered around yearly to different jobs, Adelaide had been asked one year as a little girl to help out on stage, and has been there ever since. Of course, initially, her acting wasn't very good (being young and inexperienced and everything), but she got better with every passing year. Eventually she grew to be one of the event's better veteran actors (which, let's face it, isn't a very big achievement when all of the actors are volunteers who didn't necessarily need very much talent to get their part). By the time she was in high school, Adelaide had a very obvious passion for acting, and decided to join her school's drama club.
About halfway through the her grade 12 year, after the club's production of "Alice in Wonderland", Adelaide had attended the after party with her family. Only coming to support their daughter, her parents left early, leaving Adelaide to keep an eye on Eliza, who was happy to show off her cute, younger sister. When the two of them finally left the party the sun was just starting to set, but the two were still as energetic as ever. As if proving this fact, Adelaide's sister was determined to make her life difficult by running and hiding, and playing games all the way home. At one point, after chasing after the reckless girl who had run out of sight, Adelaide's eyes were drawn to a beautiful mansion. She rarely walked this path and had therefore never seen it before, and found that its grandeur contrasted with the surrounding's homely environment. It was beautiful, that was without question, but that was not something that mattered much right then, because she had to focus on finding her sister.
After calling out her name a handful of times and getting no kind of response, Adelaide was starting to panic about where her sister could be hiding: what a reckless girl!! As she frantically searched her surroundings, her eyes were eventually drawn back to the mansion, where she saw someone looking back at her through the window. In the growing darkness her vision wasn't very good, but the figure looked to be female.....was that where her sister had run? Into the mansion? She squinted her eyes to take another look, but the face was gone. Finding no other option Adelaide approached the gate, a little uneasy, but continued while praying that her sister might save her all this trouble and just show up. When it didn't happen, she knocked experimentally, and the gates swayed open a little at her touch: so it was unlocked? Thinking that it must have been her sister that she saw earlier, Adelaide propped it open and stepped inside.
Declared "Missing" During the Spring Cleaning Event
Ever since her first attempt at navigating the mansion, Adelaide had been making numerous remarks that someone must map out the place. "Someone" very quickly turned into "Adelaide", and with a burst of determination, she decided one day to take some paper and try to do it herself. After the first few days, she had started to make some progress, but had no idea how much ground had been covered. The mansion seemed to have no end! It didn't look like she was ever going to find out how well she had done, however, because after waking up on the fourth day of her adventure, Adelaide's makeshift map had disappeared without a trace.... Almost as though the mansion itself didn't want to be mapped out. So she was forced to drop the idea and retreat, which shoudn't have been much of a problem, but Adelaide had no idea where she was. Forced to navigate blindly, with only vague memories of what she had recorded, it takes her a painfully long time to regroup with the others.
♬ Extras:
Family/Friends:
- Melissa Padmore (née: Brodeur) [46]: Adelaide's gentle mother who is very family-oriented. She's a bit of a social butterfly, and has a habit of planning and organizing anything the family does down to the exact minute.
- David Padmore [49]: A soft-spoken, friendly man, he is Adelaide's father, and is much more reserved than the other members of his family.
- Eliza "Elly" Padmore [11]: Adelaide's little sister who has boundless reserves of energy. She can be a little bossy, but always means well.
Miscellaneous:
✦ She has a minor hero-complex when it comes to people who can play instruments. She's musically challenged so it really impresses her.
✦ Although she generally prefers to be called be her full name she doesn't mind when people use nicknames. Understandably, "Adelaide" can be a bit of a mouthful.
✦ Like many short people, she absolutely refuses to ask for help when trying to grab something that's out-of-reach. Adelaide will resort to chairs, counters, and full-on climbing before she even considers going to someone else.
✦ The object shown on Adelaide's application is actually a card her school designed for their production of Alice in Wonderland. Instead of doing t-shirts they opted for something more creative this year and made personalized cards for the cast. Most of the members (like Adelaide) decided to sign theirs. Adelaide's card is the Queen of Hearts because, as you can probably guess, that was her role in the play~ Anyways, she woke up with this item in her pocket, because it was handed out during the cast party she attended the day she got trapped in Wiegenlied.
✦ Here's a (new) reference for Adelaide without the sweater + an alternate style for her bangs .
Relationships:
...A smack to the face might do you some good. Want to give it a try? | I'm just gonna...go... | I know your name, but...that's about it | Hey, hey! Tell me more about yourself ovo | We have got to spend more time together | You are the Sam to my Frodo; the Hamlet to my Horatio~ | Hnnnnn my heart is beating way too fast ///// | You know it's funny...I've spent my life memorizing scripts, but I can't think of a single line to describe how I feel about you ♥
August (Arulie) -
They're still little better than strangers, but after hearing his dramatic reading he has seriously impressed her. Swing by and do some reading with her some time, August. - Or maybe don't, because it'll probably turn into full-blown acting //HIT
Jasper (SnowySnowflakes) -
They haven't talked much, but after being asked to pick a book together for "story time" Adelaide only has good things to say about the soft-spoken nun. Jasper seems to be rather knowledgeable and kind- Adelaide only wishes she wouldn't be so reserved, if only because she wants another opportunity to chat.
John (Tashaj4de) -
John was the very first person she met and he has since become her closest confident in the mansion. While Adelaide may not fully understand his reason for being so guarded (around most people) she relishes the fact that he lets himself relax around her. She can't help but feel...special? Adelaide values John's friendship more than words can describe - although her feelings for him seem have recently started spilling into a category beyond friendship...
Jun-Yi (MelodicSoul) -
For some reason whenever Adelaide sees him she's overcome with a need to go say hi. And honestly, their conversations never disappoint? He might be a man of few words but Jun-Yi is one of the nicest people Adelaide has ever had the pleasure of meeting. Not to mention he must emit some kind of calming aura - it's impossible to be uneasy when Jun-Yi's around. Even though Adelaide's not sure how Jun-Yi feels she proudly calls him a friend.
Mara (Smile-Himechii) -
A sweet girl with a sweet heart and a massive imagination that Adelaide may or may not be jealous of <3 ...No seriously, Adelaide's taken improv classes and she's still not at Mara's level- please share your secrets //HITNO
Max (Smile-Himechii) -
...If he calls her and John "lovebirds" one more time Adelaide might actually die from embarrassment. She worried at first that she was being too transparent about her crush, but it seems Max was only suspicious because John isn't close to many other girls in the mansion? Embarrassment aside she thinks Max is nice enough and appreciates his lively (if also loud) personality. He mentioned wanting to hang out again sometime, and Adelaide actually finds herself looking forward to it.
Nat (Chocoyeyi) -
She might actually be one of the sweetest girls Adelaide has ever met. Hands down. And when she learned the girl can can play piano too? BOOM: mind blown. She hopes she has a chance to hang out with Nat one on one again (under better circumstances than the last time), because she'd love to get to know the girl better.
Phoebe (Tashaj4de) -
She met the Mansion's mistress only recently and Phoebe honestly reminds her a lot of her little sister. Energetic? Check. Playful? Check. Demanding? Check. All these traits make it really hard for her to treat Phoebe as a host, so Adelaide....doesn't. She sees Phoebe as an equal and entertains the idea that they may even become friends one day. Still....John's "warning" is always at the back of her mind so Adelaide can't help being a little cautious...
Theodore (TheLostArts) -
She honestly has no idea what to think about Mr. Gentleman over here? They've only had the pleasure of meeting a few times and he certainly seems friendly enough (ignoring his interactions with one specific blond), and that's enough to put him into Adelaide's good books.
Theo (Tashaj4de) -
After deciding to dance with him on a whim Adelaide finds herself continuously drawn to Wiegenlied's mysterious (and always polite) butler. He's so stiff when it comes to too many things that she can't help but want to push him out of his comfort zone a bit. She's curious about what sort of person lies beneath that professional facade... But regardless of what can be found there, she hopes she can consider Theo a friend one day.
