Description
This is a flag for my NationStates nation; the Republic of Central U.S. Territories. The idea is essentially a near-future scenario where the United States has broken up into several smaller republics loosely governed by a North American Union much like the EU. The Central Territories consist of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.
It's still being shaped by addressing issues, but ideally, it is characterized by strong bottom-up government overseen by a basic constitution and a limited-but-capable-of-enforcement National Government. It tends towards more socialistic policies, favors local production and industry, and polices large corporations harshly. It's based on an idea I had for saving the United States from our current self-created Second Depression.
