They're both Pegasi, they both seem to like rock music in the movie (Rainbow Dash says "Rock on!" a few times, and Flash Sentry is a guitar player), Flash has a bolt as his cutie mark, so his cutie mark might have something to do with guarding and being fast?
But seriously, I can see them together.

Regrettably. Flash Sentry is a character who must have more shippings. Unfortunately, for the fandom there are only two: Twilight or Sunset. In my humble opinion, I prefer to Flash with Sonata.

mmmmm. I think that Flash Sentry should pair it with other girls, so pairing it with Twilight became very obsessive and very overrated. If you do not like this couple, personally I respect your opinion.
