I think this was the piece that got me interested in your art, now it brings to mind a Hozier lyric from 'cherry wine' "oh but she loves, like sleep to the freezing" amazing as always.

That lady has one heck of a thrust to pierce clean through plate armor like that.

Oh my, I just noticed the reflection, and how there was ice or webs where the queen, or witch, was standing!!! I love how he had his rosaries with him!!!

If the sword is made from some legendary mythical material that is stronger than steel, then it can. You did a great job with the indentation in the metal.

I saw a sword in a scholorgladiatoria video that had a nail exactly like this. Like literally just a nail sticking out of the hilt. I always thought it was neat.

I haven't seen one like that, but I'm not surprised - you clearly know what you're painting.

I am not one that is able to express their emotions and thoughts nicely. But this work awakens a lot of emotions in me. It looks realistic and magical at the same time. It makes me feel sadness and calmness at the same time, and angst. I love the details on the sword and the nail, the cross that is still in his arm. Leaves, fish and butteflies that are ignorant of his condition, and blood that is slowly coloring the water. Sad, but beautiful.

I really love this picture and how it is presented. Good job! The armor looks very good. However, as a history nerd, my head screams that a sword puncturing that armor is impossible ^^

I thought when I made this that I provided enough tidbits for people to gather that there's something supernatural going on in the image but unfortunately, A: i don't think most people notice them and B: for those that do i don't think the supernatural element is a suitable explanation the pierced armor. At least, I guess there isn't enough implication to make that connection for the viewer. Oh well.

Yes, I didn't notice the connection. But it's good to hear that it's not because of ignorance but for a supernatural/symbolic reason.

I imagined he was a famed witch hunter of sorts. He thought himself bold enough to take on a greater foe, an age old "witch" as she's called. She plucked his sword from his hand and drove it through him without so much as lifting a finger.

What kind of monster managed to ramm a broadsword right through plate and chainmail armor? Like seriously, that takes some serious amount of strength.

Cool artwork. But what a waste of ressources in those days. He would be all naked soon after his death. But strong and nice armour. German, Nurnberg, I suppose...

Not that strong. Someone put a broadsword straight through the breast plate.
