Didn't they find a fish that was long thought to have been extinct years ago? I think it was called the coelacanth. It has some creepy-looking eyes.

There are plenty fishs considered dissapeared/prehistoric who got discovered again. The Ocean is big and has a lot places where the old creature could find a new living spcae to survive.
