Hi! I'm from #Underrated-Canids , here to give your deviation a critique! Thank you for adding your art to our critique folder.
Now to start the critique.
Overall, this piece looks very much like a fox- The anatomy is generally correct! And the fur looks fluffy and fuzzy, much like the fennec fox.
The two left paws (which are usually VERY hard to draw right) seem very natural and are draw with good knowledge of paw anatomy. However, the two right paws on the left of the page seem like they are missing a toe or two. It seems you have mastered what the paw looks like from the side, but not up front. This tutorial [link] should help you master paws. (as it has helped me in the past )
Now, the legs on this fox have lines to represent where muscle is. However, these lines are not exactly correctly placed. The only gesturing lines on the fox's legs should be one line toward the back of the leg, and perhaps a line gesturing the joint of the wrist. A visual of what I'm explaining is seen briefly here [link]
Another thing is the distinctly large ear of the fennec fox. Being an animal drawer myself, I know ears are very, very hard to draw. The ear you have drawn looks a little flat and triangular. To fix this, what I always do is lightly draw an oval-like shape where the ear should be before I draw it. The shape should be where the 'rims' of the ear are. And keep in mind that the ears have volume- they are not flat! I hope my advice on this helps... I can't find any ear tutorials
Lastly is the profile of the fox. Not much is wrong with it, but I'm going to be picky for you
The eye should be a little lower- juuust level with the top of the nose.
Another one of my little picky details is the color you chose. Fennec foxes are rather a Tan color. even though blue is a awesome color (my favorite) the fox would have been best depicted in a warm orange-yellow color.
And now I'm going to be done being picky about details Thank you for letting me critique your work.
Now for the stars!!
