Wow, thanks! I guess people really like this! Even though its just in my scraps. How are you doing old chap?! I haven't heard from you in quite a long time and I haven't seen you updating anything recently either.

Those sketches were pretty quick to do. It really isn't very hard I think. Just start with the head and block it in. But I suppose its easier to say than do. I've been doing horses for a while though. Not a lot of challenging horse poses though....

Your sketchwork is quite lovely. I enjoy seeing it sometimes even more than finished products. It's the lines. You know your horses!

Aww, thanks. Yeah, I do agree, sometimes sketches look a lot cooler than a finished picture.

I guess it's because in real life there aren't solid lines like how we draw in pictures. In this way, sketches are more like paintings.

That's true. I wish I could paint, my mom used to be really good at painting (she's where I get my artistic-ness from)though I don't know if she is anymore. I have no idea how long it's been before she painted or even drew anything! She's still really great at horses though!

Excellent rendering of movement! These horses are somewhat like steppe horses in the outline, have you had some model to copy from or just drawn them "out of your head"?

My father loved to draw horses too ( in ballpoint pen or watercolor), but his style was different from yours, much more "sketchy"...

Thanks! Oh, I just spontaneously drew them. The only ones I had refrences for was the placement of the hooves in the running one (because I still don't know exactly how horses' hooves look when they run) and the horse lifting up its hoof. And I was looking at anothe picture of an arched horse neck. Other than that, all me.

They look so graceful

Drawing horses is hard...

Yeah they are, but I usually don't have as much trouble with them as I was here. Ah well, what can you do?

Cool, love the centaur! I do sketchy bits too when I'm figuring out how to make a section. Then I always have to clean them up later...

Hehehe, actually, I was drawing a centaur for someone awhile back, and I found that they were loads of fun to do! Because I like drawing both people and horses. I guess maybe everyone does the sketchy stuff. I just heard from somewhere that making clean, straight lines was much more efficient.

Thanks! I wish I could agree with you though. Theonly sketch I like in here is the horse with the flowing mane, turning its head and lifting up its hoof.
