I wish I could sew! The only thing I know how to sew are buttons...I tried sewing my curtains once but the seams turned out very crooked haha

Sewing is so much fun and it's so rewarding making things like pillows and stuffed animals for other people
It isn't really that hard, if you just practice. I've been sewing since I was seven, and trust me I still have alot to learn. It's alot of fun though!

Do you use a sewing machine or do you sew by hand? I have a friend who LOVES sewing too. She sews some of her own clothes from scratch and I think it's really cool. It does seem like a great hobby to have.

A combonation of both. I started out hand sewing because a good sewing machine is really expensive, plus I was only seven. But after I took a fashion design class my freshman year of high school and learned how to operate a machine, I invested $350 in a nice babylock machine and it's the greatest. It's great for all-purpose sewing. It has a few decorative stitches and several ways to customize the length and width of every stitch pattern.
Some things can only be done with a machine, and some can only be done by hand, so I use both methods when making something.
It's alot of fun, but it takes up so much space. My sewing stuff takes up half of the kitchen and some of the garage! It's mainly fabric, but I also have a couple bins full of ribbon, buttons, and other random notions.
