Description And the last of Twilight's Canterlot friends we have is Moon Dancer!

Now with all the great new characters that the first half of Season 5 has bought us, I think Moon Dancer is my absolute favourite. She's so adorkable! But I can also relate to her, being the social outcast she is, and having your best friends not appearing at your something that means a lot to you, hurts a lot and feels absolutely horrible. Of course, she's a lot a better now however, which I'm happy with as Amending Fences was such a great episode Moon Dancer is voiced by Kazumi Evans, and after 4 seasons of her signing for Rarity (and later Luna), it's great to see her do regular voices and I think she's an excellent voice actress. Her voice for Moon Dancer, as well as the one we've seen for Octavia in Season 5 is incredible goes to show that Kazumi's talents go beyond signing.

As we know, Moon Dancer is a recolour of Twilight. Which gives us a nice 2:2:2 ration of the Canterlot unicorns looking like each other, as we have Lyra and Minuette, and also Twinkleshine and Lemon Hearts being recolours of each other, but I think it's fitting that she's a recolour of Twilight as she acts as the Shadow Archetype to Twi. In other words, she's like an alternate reality for Twilight if she just studied and stayed out of socialising.  Moon Dancer is also based on a G1 pony of the same name who first appeared in the Rescue From Midnight Castle special from 1984, it's also worth mentioning that the original G1 Twilight was a recolour of Moon Dancer in different variations sold in some countries. There's also a G3 pony called Moon Dancer, but she bears much less resemblance to the G1 and G4 namesake.

Right, that's some information about Moon Dancer! And now to talk about the drawing. This is a traditional drawing, unlike most unicorns, but like my drawing of her pals sans Twilight and Lyra. Although doing this traditionally was a tricky decision, I really wanted to draw Moon Dancer, but didn't want to do her digitally as it would take longer than necessary. So I did her traditionally, but fearing she would come out to inaccurate. But looking at this now, I think she looks fairly accurate, the only major difference being the two shades of blue in her mane and tail are suppose to be purple. So I'm glad she at least looks presentable!

I had a lot of fun sketching this as well. She's challenging, but not to the extent where it becomes frustrating. The most tricky part is drawing the glasses, especially the left lense. But everything else was smooth. The colouring that does look accurate is very nice and her mane and tail (especially the former) look great. Overall, Moon Dancer is a great character who is very fun to draw! and I hope we see more of her soon

Hope you all like! And if you read all of the above, then I love you! Feel free to comment and fave and tell me what you think!
