Description
Urania, muse of astronomy. Watercolour, ink and coloured pencil; December 2012.Second in the Greek Muses series:
I so loved painting Euterpe that I decided to paint the rest of the muses. Many thanks to for the gorgeous stock photo referenced.
N.B. Apologies for the lack of updates. I've been having some trouble scanning, so the most recent works will be photographed for a little while. I promise to update this with a nice clean scan as soon as I am able.

The border is so beautiful! You combine seamlessly classical and art-deco type themes, it's really unique and beautiful. And the details in the skin and clothing are so precise, it reminds me of italian renaissance portraiture. Amazing!
