Description 8.5x11" watercolor and gouache

Another "naturalist" style fantasy creature, based on the notion that willows could pull up their roots and go for a walk. Considering the ability of clippings to put out roots, I came up with this little guy.

This image was drawn and painted almost entirely while watching LoL tournaments.

That's cool. I like how the face is part of the lines in the stump.

This fellow would make a wonderful low-effort pet (assuming it photosynthesizes its own food!). Slightly more interactive than a regular houseplant, but with needs way more minimal than even your typical fish or reptile.

Lovely creature design, as usual

Thank you very much!

It probably would make a good pet, especially if you had a nice yard for it to move around! I had read that in ireland they have fairytales about willow trees pulling up their roots and following people around at night. There's a lot of crazy stories about stuff happening at night. I think I'll blame the pub!

I really love the idea, but those little blue eyes make it look so evil.

It looks like a cute little one-eyed thing, until you look closer and see that it actually features a creepy little smile. I think it wants to do something horrible.

I love the amount of detail you put into the bark texture.

Is it a dangerous creature? or is it more like a stick-insect ?
In any case, I find it very interresting
