I've been sitting on a variation of this idea for a few days now...This is my entry for 's Disney/non-Disney couple challenge. The basic premise was choose a song from an animated Disney movie, or various others, as listed for the available choices or by suggestion. Then, once you've chosen your song, draw your fan character with their chosen canon character, your original characters, or your favorite couple.

The song I chose, as the title promptly displays, was the corny "Let Me Be Your Wings" from Thumbelina: [link] . The same day I was thinking about how to work with this song, my otaku buddy (he shall remain anonymous) randomly posts an interesting tidbit on my Facebook wall: "The Funimation dub portrays Crona as a guy...Crona's actually a girl." I know I'm probably taking a bit of a risk going with Kid and Crona instead of my OTP Soul and Maka, or what would be more appropriate for the challenge my seldomly drawn fan characters Config and Serenity. But...I regret nothing!

I felt like making something really happy and corny...And this sappy sap sap is making me smile. These two characters have such a rough time, especially poor Crona. Why can't I draw them smiling and enjoying each other's company? In my opinion, they'd probably relate to each other pretty well. Nobody's perfect, but finding someone with similar quirks to you can potentially lend itself to both growing and improving as individuals, due to having someone to share with, confide in, and draw strength from. And, it fits. The point of the corny song is that being in love is like having wings and taking flight.
