Description
While watching Macross Frontier I was hit with a sudden inspiration for a ship design to go with my other Macross inspired items. Since I'd created textures for my Transforming Fighters naming the Coral Sea as the ship they're based on I've decided that will be the name for the new ship model. This is just a very preliminary WIP image, but I've included my USS Arizona to give a sense of scale.

I'm designing this so that the ship could operate both in space and in a planetary ocean body... both the Forward and Aft sections have large Hangars for Fighter aircraft and Drones... 10 elevators are available to bring aircraft on deck, and I've modeled some basic interior details inside the hangar bays... support beams and the like... I still have a long ways to go on it, but thought I'd share the process...

Right now I'm still working on the over-all hull... after I get most of the details roughed in I'll start on the bridge and extra parts...

Todays Updates: I've been working on detailing the Hull areas. I've added additional gun platforms, crew access stairs and doors along the Catwalks and in the Hangar interiors, and added Arrestor Gear and Catapults to the main Flight Decks. I also added the gearing rails for the Aircraft Elevators.

I added temporary (very temporary) textures so that the details would stand out a bit...
