Originally done in July '01, this was the welcoming image to my fifth "Cuffed" galleryUsually, when I rework images from this era, first of all I get out my trusty machete and some hedge clippers to subdue the hairdo... maybe I should have done so here as well. And no, as far as I know she's not related to Conan O'Brien.

As I cannot draw myself I cannot allow myself to criticize so I still stay silent...

Do as you wish. But I'd have hoped you know me well enough by now to see that I'll respect other opinions (if they are adressed in a polite manner, of course), so you can feel free to tell me what bugs you here, even though of course I reserve the right to just have a close look and say "ummm, no, sorry, I still think it looks okay". As for own capabilities, the only difference I see is that with the greater knowledge of the one criticizing I expect more precise reasons or suggestions, while of course everybody has the right to the simple "I don't like that". I despise art that has to be explained and understood. An image works, or it doesn't. And this one, as you can see in the statistics, to most people doesn't.

I know you well enough and you ought to know that I rarely criticize others work.
I can point directly on one thing, but it's more the whole image I've got difficulties with. I simply don't find, that it live up to your usual high standard.

Well, then feel free to point me to that one thing, so I can make my own mind about it. But, as I said, I might just shrug my shoulders, but that would neither mean I'm insulted nor that I want to insult you.
Sure, there are the large, lavish images with a plethora of little details to discover, but should that really mean I shouldn't upload a simple pin-up every now and then?
Funnily enough, this was never one of my favourite images, but since the reworking I grew to enjoy it... it's all so unobtrusive, so subtle, so serene. And though of course (good) colour would always be an improvement, I think the grays are doing a fine job here.

I rally like your gray images and would probably dislike them in colours,,,
