Description Originally done in September 2000, I tried to polish up this image, and added what I thought would be a fast and simple (it turned out to be neither) background to create some depth

I really don't know why I keep posting images, it feels like hardly anyone cares. But I do it because it's what I like to do, what I like to see, and if it's only few people who enjoy what I enjoy, then that's the way the world is.

Her top is barely holding on, a quick breath or too much movement will make it fall off, exposing everything.

But I'm sure a few of the single male villagers won't forget her.  In fact, they'll come by every day to give her something to drink, and rub her muscles so they don't get sore.  With that wood seat, her butt will need a lot of attention and they will be happy to give it to her.

I really like this picture, I wonder how long she will have to stay there, forgotten by the villagers

Hey, thank you, I'm glad I could make you wonder... it's always the best compliment when people start to think about the situations, and what might happen next

I love this image. Your attention to detail is mind-boggling(as usual) the depth-of-field effects work
well and the story has lots of interesting endings

I still think I could have put more effort into the background houses and the way the cobblestones turn to no-longer-distinguishable (and don't get me started how it doesn't really match with the perspective of the pillory boxes), but hey, thank you for acknowledging my efforts
And I'm glad I could once more make you fantasize about the situation

I'm not quite sure whether you're praising this image or bashing my other uploads, but... thanks

prodigal-gamer In reply to TheSoggo [2011-12-14 05:47:27 +0000 UTC]

Definitely praising this one-- all the others are of equally high quality, but this one's themes appeal to me even more so than the others. And, yeah, I realize that bondage plays a part in most (all) of the works you post here, but I really dig the character's peasant/gypsy look and the choice of restraints. I actually just commissioned a couple of artist friends to do some "stocks" pieces for me. So, great stuff.

TheSoggo In reply to prodigal-gamer [2011-12-14 15:12:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I don't do stocks very often... though actually I do have another image you might enjoy; I thought about uploading it a few times, but can't get my mind straight whether to upload it like it is (similar style to [link] (which is amongst my least like images); but I like the woodcut feeling which especially fits with the medieval pillory theme) or to rework it and add shading... and as so often when I can't decide I procrastinate. But I'll have a closer look soon.

Anyways, glad you enjoy this one

The other option is the two birds land on the twins, and just preen there for a bit. Their weight on the cloth top makes it come a bit closer to falling off, and she has to breathe carefully as a result.

I'm not a carpenter myself, but it doesn't look too complicated to build, does it? I think you could get the hinges in every halfway decent hardware store, and from there it's just you, some wood and a trusty saw...

darth603 In reply to TheSoggo [2011-12-13 14:25:24 +0000 UTC]

Could work. I don't have a 'trusty' saw right now, or even room for the finished piece, unfortunately.

Well, I'm glad you continue posting - I think your stuff is great! Per usual, the way she's dressed speaks volumes - maybe a gypsy who got caught running a crooked tarot card game?

I have to say though, she doesn't seem very brave in this picture. I mean, look at how frightened she is of those sparrows up there!

Now, maybe if she was placed in the middle of a town square (instead of being out in the middle of nowhere) and the she was looking up at some jeering townspeople in the buildings around her? Just a thought...

TheSoggo In reply to narcos37 [2011-12-13 14:20:24 +0000 UTC]

Though the risk is immense that you're just making fun of me, I'll try to explain my intense anyways: Nah, she's not scared of the birds; they are a symbol of freedom, and our sad girl just wishes she could flutter away as easily...
Or you're right and she's afraid the birds will think her to be a memorial statue and do what birds do when they see one of those ("Needs decorations... RRRRNGHHHH... ah, better").

Thank you, I'm glad you still enjoy

I enjoy your style personally, and was actually curious if I could have permission to take a crack at coloring some of them. Been trying to get better at it, especially in regards to shading, and since the majority of your work is B&W it would be good practice.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSoggo In reply to Akeche [2011-12-13 13:53:18 +0000 UTC]

Send me a note about what image you'd like to color; though I often don't have an unshaded version (pure line art) of my images, since I often start shading before completing the line art. Well, at least I could send you a larger version of the image, to better work on. But I must tell you beforehand that I'm not a nice and cuddly critic; I will usually go "I like this, but that over there looks strange, and this here was supposed to be green and not red...". If you can handle honest criticism, please, give it a try and note me, I'm always interested in seeing my images in color

Akeche In reply to TheSoggo [2011-12-13 14:11:41 +0000 UTC]

Oh of course I can handle criticism, although color choice is mostly dependent upon the one doing the coloring. It's all a shot in the dark unless I'm given references/suggestions on what color things may be. I am the sort who has to make sure nothing is out of place though, usually do the color zoomed in so far that I'm practically doing it by pixels.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSoggo In reply to Akeche [2011-12-13 14:27:17 +0000 UTC]

...and that's why I offered the larger version of the image you'd work on... and be assured that I'd also mention the few things I'd deem important color-scheme-wise. Though, of course I respect a good inspiration, and if you blow me away with something I hadn't seen in my mind's eye I'd be the first to applaud you.
