I love it but I'm pretty sure there weren't any Val dive bombers (far right, smoking) in bf1943

My knowledge of Battlefield maps tells me this is Wake Island because I've played that map in BF3 and 1943.

I have only played the 1942 and Heroes versions of it. 1942 was best for the map was large and so was the island

It's still a big map in 1943 and Battlefield 3.

No one ever gives the F4F Wildcat/F6F Hellcat any credit. Always the Marine F4U Cosair to swoop in and blow '10' Japs out of the sky... Edward 'Butch' O'Hare downed 5 G4M 'Betty' bombers in 5 minutes with an F6F Hellcat in an attack on US Carrier Lexington. I LOVE your drawing skills by the way. You're awesome! But why is the Medic firing a machine gun??? I thought medics were to help the wounded, not make more...

The corsair was the onlt US fighteer in the pacific maps Of battlefiled 1942. The reason the medics on the gun is because this is a doodle of my memories in the game battlefield 1942.

Why is the medic actively engaged in combat. Traditionally they are noncombatants. In WWII most if not all were conscientious objectors. A large number of Quakers have served in the military as medics since at least WWI.
The Marine Corps likewise had large number of corpsmen of that faith, and even those who weren't Quakers were Conscientious objectors. You can ask anyone who has ever been in combat and you would be hard pressed to find any anecdotal evidence of Medics using weapons. They were usually too busy saving lives sometimes including the lives of the enemy. As a person who was actually wounded in combat I owe my life to these guys who would risk their lives to save another, so I find the flippant depiction of a medic shooting down a plane disrespectful.

Yeah, like from a book I read. 'Code Talkers' by Joseph Bruchac. In it, a White Marine Medic accidentally shoots and kill a Navajo Marine Code-Talker because the Medic thought he was a Japanese soldier doing a Banzai.

The code talkers were of great strategic importance and therefore a unique and special circumstance. The Pacific war was exceptionally brutal and the Japanese were known to torture and murder prisoners of war. It was of the utmost importance to not let these men fall into enemy hands. The medic was more than likely aware of this fact. It is hard enough for a common soldier to kill another human being, for a Corpsman or medic it would be absolutely devastating. Like I said most but not all were conscientious objectors. The example you've cited is the exception and not the rule.

BF1942 I remember that map. Playing on single player was annoying cause all the Japs would charge at me while my team of CPU's drove planes and crashed tanks into buildings.

I love the detail on the treads of the Sherman, very well done.
Ugh, I long for a next-gen game to replace what BF1942 means to me. ....maybe BF3?

thank you. I cant wait for BF3 but it looks like it will be another bad company smashed with BF2. The game itself looks great but it wont have the 1942 playability.

I loved the massive variety of weapons and vehicles. Not to mention you were allowed were ever you wanted on the map.I think team work is tight in WWII shooters because they players each had a diferent class and weapons forceing them to work together in order for each class to be usefull. In the newer shooters each player has the ability to carry a rifle, a scope, grenade launcher, hand grenades, Shotgun, RPG, C4. This makes a single player a one man army. there fore eliminateing teamwork for anything other than capping flags.

I completely agree with you, in BC2 I play recon, but I'm more effective against tanks and enemy groups than I am playing as a engineer, and if you equip improved accuracy, the SMG becomes more lethal at long range than half of the rifles available--which in just strange. Yeah, 1942 really brought it home that you needed to have a balanced squad, or else you might be in a pickle faster than you think. There also was a lot more spotting and communication that went on, unlike BC2 where people reveal enemy positions only after they were unsuccessful in killing them.

I really hope they remake 1942. i was told that 1943 was originally supposed to be a remake. Im hopeing thats the reason why its been 3 years since release on Ps3 ans xbox and PC still dosent have it. I hope when we get it its a full remake.

lol,I feel like such a dreamer thinking about it. Yeah, it's just hard to play other games within the genre and be disappointed because nothing lives up to it, even now. I just miss the vast environments, you really felt like you where in the middle of something much larger than yourself. The only other game I've found to be anything reminiscent of 1942 would be hidden and dangerous, but that's still a ways off. I'm holding onto the hope that they'll give us a remake one day...
BTY, have you played MAG, I'm not sure what it's like--thinking of trying it, but it sound's like the fps part of the game is severely underdeveloped.

I played mag once. The game has a great concept that 256 people can play together on a single map and the envoriornments are awesome. but it seemed to fail in practice.
