Description

While she wasn't in the business as long as her 'beloved' father, Chloe had already come to know of people far from ordinary. Her father's business attracted the very best talent in all the 52 states and beyond, hearing the many stories that would certainly fit in a Hollywood movie. You don't get into this kind of world, this kind of fame and popularity by just being average. While the stories are countless, only a few ever leave a lasting impression on the former commissioner. This is why she was pretty surprised when Annette made mention of a chance meeting with one of the highest-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D agents.

But not just any S.H.I.E.L.D agent; that alone wouldn't warrant much of Chloe's interest. It was someone who she met many years ago.

A decade or so ago is a pretty long time to go back. But even in her 20's, Catalina was pretty much a prodigy when it came to Karate, touted for her impressive skills in combat and surprising resilience. Many expected that she'd blaze through regional, national and now international competition given the display of her martial prowess, backed up by her spectacular record. Representing your country in the Olympics is one of the highest honors. Also is getting the chance to take on said Olympic prospect.

How they got to a spar against each other was quite the turn of events. With her connections, Chloe was able to look into the training facility and the fated hopefuls. While Cat shined like the diamond in the rough, the rest of the competition left much to be desired. A point that she wasn't afraid of letting known vocally. It caught the attention of some of the candidates before the ashen-haired karateka laid down the gauntlet if she could do much better. An offer Chloe no doubt took.

The stage was set for the next day, a fun exhibition between the daughter of a wrestling mogul and the hottest Olympic prospect. As Catalina wrapped the velcro wraps on her sparring pads, making sure they were tightly snug, she noticed Chloe was without any. "Don't you worry." Chloe smirked, knowing what Cat was thinking. That and the attire she picked undoubtedly wasn't within regulations. "I do not need my hands." The two would meet on the mats; Catalina bowed respectfully before falling into her stance. "Since I'm nice, I'll let you in on something. I'm going to do a roundhouse kick towards your face, so make sure you guard, okay?" Catalina was understandably puzzled. Letting an opponent in on the attack you're going to do, plus the intended target is unheard of in a fight. Ever so, the professional, the karateka, brought her guard up.

"Ready?" Chloe asked. Catalina's fists tightened in anticipation, staring down at her opponent. "Yes, I-"

She was not ready.

Chloe could still remember what onlookers described what they just saw. Catalina was struck with the same kick as Chloe said, yet somehow, the karateka couldn’t even stop it. It was like she took a blow from a baseball bat but with a rocket strapped to it. The impact between foot to face was unlike anything they'd hear from a kick like that. What was more impressive was that she didn't even start chambering the kick. It all happened in a blink of an eye.

"All that padding, and you don't even have headgear on." The blonde quipped, her foot still hovering over the mats, calmly remaining balanced on one knee. "You can quickly put it on if you like."

"No need," Catalina remarked as she wiped her cheek before settling into her stance again. "How about we go at it for real, then?" A growing smile all but answered.

What happened afterward certainly didn't lower her father's stress levels.

Huh. Didn't think it would take me this long to finally post the first ever collab commission. Better late than never, I suppose.

Today's the birthday of this fine gentleman, . Such an occasion has to be marked with something like this and I was excited to get the chance of his OC Catalina interact with mine. Which resulted in such a fabulous commission that I was so eager to share.

Massive thanks to the ever-amazing . Especially putting up with me throughout the years. His art really is worth the follow, give him the support he needs!

Many thanks and the best wishes to , especially for wanting to collab with me. Can't say that having your own OC getting rocked like that is great, perhaps I'll make it up to him. Safe to say, this won't be the last time they'd meet so stay tuned for more!
