I have recently started a Nuzlocke challenge on my copy of Moon, so I'm getting around to putting up art of my current team! This is going to be a project meant to practice Sugimori's style in non-offiical/dex poses. My goal is to make them look as official as possible!Meet my starter, Arrow!

Image pose is ref'd from several Decidueye pieces found through Google. Main pose ref'd from: www.deviantart.com/kageto-okam… . Thank you for the wonderful inspiration, the movement was excellent for studying the shapes and shading for bird Pokemon wings!
Again, this project is being used as *practice*, as I get more familiar with Sugimori lining and shading styles.

Partially, yes! I actually referenced several different Decidueye images from Google, to make sure I knew where spots were and colors changed, etc. When I find images to ref, I always flip them horizontally so that as I ref and draw the mirror image, it is less like the original. The project of drawing out my Pokemon teams is meant as practice to work on matching the Sugimori style in various poses; due to this, they are more heavily reffed than most of my work.
The image on google, however, did not have any link/credit to an artist, so thank you for finding that for me! I will update this with credit for the original pose inspiration^^

This Decidueye looks really good! I wish you luck on your nuzlocke, make sure to train to like lvl. 55 before the Elite Four and Kukui!
