Here I go, into the vast, bottomless pit that is the Homestuck fandom. I DREW THIS AND NOW YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT IT.Here we see the Land of Shadows and Flood, a dark world made darker by the clouds blocking out whatever light comes from the Incipisphere. Dotting the ocean that coats the planet are great emerald islands. Inhabiting Losaf are axolotls, whose legends speak of the Thief of Tides, who saves them from Zolvys Tï, the Origin of the Flow, who has disrupted the water currents and tides that the axolotls lives depend on.
Originally, this was just going to be Losaf looking all sketchy but then I started caring and the Thief of Tides sort of barged in and WHOOPS then the Origin's residence appeared.
The halberd is based on the one I own, which I cannot believe I don't have a picture of on here, I mean how HIGH do you have to be to do something like that.
Anyway, here's stuff about my Homestuck me:

Theme (like how Dave is associated with time and Rose with light)- shadow
Fetch Modus- Air Guitar- Symbolized by clear cards (hurr hurr) with a gray background, you can retrieve any item, but first you must air guitar an epic solo. Required solo length is directly proportional to item size. Makes you look like a doofus, but is alarmingly satisfying.

And just to make this longer, sorry for horrendous scanner rape. Why can't it just look like it does in real life? I hate computers, the end (not really).

This is really neat!! I can tell you put a lot of thought into what the world is comprised of. It makes me want to create a Homestuck persona/world for myself! Hehe!
You have a nice sense of atmosphere present in this drawing. How you use the range of dark to light pencil marks to create the depth. Keep drawing when inspiration strikes!!
Also is Pesterchum actually a thing? Or are you referring to IM? Cos that'd be sweet if it's a thing.

I came up with most of Losaf while on vacation, so I had plenty of time to iron out all the details. Sometimes I feel like I need more things to do (like draw I guess now).
I just wish my scanner wasn't stupid and the contrast showed a little better. Everything is shaded in some various way, but the sky below the clouds and the emerald didn't quite show.
Actually thinking about my trollsona now, theoretischeUniversum (German for theoreticalUniverse because everything sounds better in German). Going to have to face the fact I need to learn how to not fail at human (or humanish) bodies.
Anyway, yeah, these people who are awesome created an actual Pesterchum app.
Hopefully you're not using a Mac because that tends to screw up the program but hey maybe not. I've been tinkering with it for a few days and it's pretty cool. There's even a space where you can set typing quirks by telling it to replace a character or a group of characters with another set.

AW DUDE that is all sorts of sweet. I do have a Mac, but I also have a PC that I use less frequently. (Mainly because my Macbook is so much better at running Adobe products!) But I downloaded it and it seems to be working fine. I mean, I was able to start it up? Hehe, I dunno guess I will have to wait and see if it crashes or something. I'll probably use my regular screen name I use with IM... adventureSocks!!
And I agree about things sounding better in German! I so want to learn to speak the language, but I have a poor capacity for language.... I don't remember most of Spanish and I took classes for SIX YEARS. :0

I'm highly disappointed there were no umlauts in that last sentence, oh well. Point is, I've got a couple of years of German and it's a pretty awesome language, but Jegus article endings in accusative case (really, any different case where you have to mess with article endings) is a total pain in the ass. That's okay though; most of the time you can just slap an apostrophe on the end and call it an abbreviation if you're not sure.

It seems to have worked? I mean I typed in my chumhandle and it didn't outrightly say NO or anything, so I'm assuming it accepted it? I'll have to fiddle around with it tomorrow or something, 'cause I need to go sleep as it is getting quite late.
I really want to learn German, one, because I think it's a beautiful language and two, because I'm half German. I just have SUCH a terrible memory. I mean seriously. I have to strain my mind to remember what I did yesterday. I really want to try out those Rosetta Stone products because they claim to, instead of making you memorize translation, teach the language to you as you had learned your first language. However that works. But alas, I am poor and it is expensive. But someday, who knows? For now I have other things to focus on.

I guess it did work then. Pester me (theUltamate, obviously) sometime, I'd like to see how the whole thing works (and see how infuriating my text substitutions are).
Calling it beautiful is sort of a stretch for the average speaker, because they seriously all talk like Arnold Schwarzenegger, or at least they did when I was in Germany, but if you see Hayden's The Seasons in the original German text it's gorgeous.
I've been wanting the Arabic Rosetta Stone for some time now because that would be awesome to learn Arabic, but you're right, they cost too much. I guess my Arabic is limited to Allah (hurr) and a few random insults.

Hehehe, well I think it's a lovely language. But I might just be a weirdo, haha! I've listened to a few German bands and even though I can't understand what they are saying, it sounds wonderful. And as I said I'm half German so my older relatives on my fathers side speak a dialect of German, as well as English. So I dunno, maybe it's just that's I've grown up around that makes it seem beautiful to me!

So you've got living relatives that speak German as a first language? Wow, that's pretty awesome.
Somewhere along the line five or six generations ago, two Germans came over to America and here I am today. Somehow we've kept the last name alive, and it's even got an umlaut in it, which is awesome.
