and what the sense to have the desktop application for stuff what available in browser?
and imho scrollbars are to thin for desktop application (they're are ok only for touch devices where it cats only as indicator, not control)

Native applications can be useful sometimes, especially if you use the website a lot. For example, a Wikipedia application could be useful for students who use Wikipedia a lot. It can be faster than the website, have better system integration and can have additional features such as offline pages.
As for the scrollbars, they gets bigger on hover, like Ubuntu overlay scrollbars.

Most mice have scrollwheels, and all touchpads can do scrolling too.

The theme I'm emulating here actually is Iris with some extra things which can't be done in Gtk but look nice nonetheless
