Because of course the rebels have to have a permafusion on their side :>
So this is Ametrine, tough, compassionate tank of the rebels. Amethyst and Citrine each joined the rebels for different reasons and believe it or not, didn't like each other that much. Amethyst didn't like that Citrine could rival her own strength and how, since Citrines are a more defensive sort of quartzes like Rose Quartz, she would always end up having to defend her. The feelings were mutual as Citrine didn't like Amethyst's competitive, impulsive nature and how braggy she could be when she did something good.

At one point they both got trapped, having to fight off a bunch of enemies alone. They both (although Amethyst's pride needed a little convincing...) realized the only way to survive was fusion.

After they escaped, they ended up hiding somewhere to take a break. It was then they had a bit of a 'heart-to-heart' chat (Which later became a bit of an inside joke when they had a bit of an outfit change) And each found a new respect for each other. They ended up falling in love after that and soon Ametrine became a permanent member of The Rebel Gems.

Ametrine is like the team fusion coach. Like Garnet she gets super excited anytime a new fusion arises... Unless it's Bloodstone. She wasn't too happy bout him...
