Description
An alien concept I've been working on in between jobs. I couldn't decide on his left hand so I made an alternative version. I figured that the guy on the left is a regular alien, and the one on the right could be a pilot, his hand helps him communicate with his space ship - sort of like symbiotic connection. Kind of like in Battlestar Galactica

Usually its explained that bipedal-ism is sort of the go-to evolution in the universe. Β Eventually everything arrives at that because it is the most optimal. Β Out of universe, its because fictional works have to sacrifice some scientific accuracy for a bit of relatability. Β Yes, all the characters of a scifi story could be vertically-symmetrical sludges communicate through slight body movement, but the audience would have 0 connection to it and lose interest.
