He rarely treats himself to top-shelf liquor, but when he does, he only drinks triceratopshelf.

Man, someone should get you designing monsters for movies - this is so creative compared to the same Barlowe ripoffs every movie seems to use.

Wow, thanks so much, man...I'm always aiming for something fresh and "original," so this kind of feedback means more to me than just about anything else. Thank you!

I should say it more often, then! I'm continually staggered by your imagination.

I like. I especially like the way you have handled the spines. I think of it like a little sprout or a fragment.

Like a fractal organism, every fragment of the God is a microcosm of the whole. : 3

Would every part of the Great Old One be derived from similar... inspiration?

You mean would the rest of the body follow the hybrid dinocrab motif? Hmm, that's a good question...I guess I envisioned arthropod/ceratopsian as the primary gene donors, but considering it's a Lovecraft organism I could see any number of disparate phyletic contributions to the overall bauplan:

Do you think that it is the literal body of the Great Old One, or just a meat suit the Old One's Cultists created to interact with them.
Kinda reminds me of an old idea I had about beings in a memetic realm...
EDIT: Also, This

That's a really intriguing question! I've never thought of it that way, but it's a great idea...Given the apparently hypergeometrical aspects of the Great Old Ones, I guess you could theoretically see any of them as avatars or puppets animated by higher-dimensional consciousness. Maybe they just need a biological form with the proper neurological architecture for that kind of "possession" or teleoperation. Or perhaps the form we see is just a 3D cross-section of a 4D+ organism:

I definitely get the Old One vibe on this - it brings the larval forms of the outer gods from Dreamquest for Unknown Kadath.

Thank you! Yeah, I was definitely thinking lateral gene transfer via Larva as per
