Description Another fore-and-aft bicephalized organism, this one a lumbering pterosaur hybrid with a body form superficially converging on a caterpillar. The animal is omnivorous, with the pouched pteranodontid head specialized for feeding on fish and other aquatic organisms while the crested tapejarid head is adapted for eating fruit. Surprisingly agile despite its elephantine bulk, the animal employs an "ambush" fishing style, lying in wait in or near rivers to snatch at passing fish and rays, and is also partially arboreal, being a nimble climber when fruit is scarce close to the ground. Both heads are active year-round, a trait unusual in terminally bicephalized omnivores.

Rather than one of my more typical panspermic chimerae, this creature might be a relict GMO construct fabricated by an alternate or extinct superciv (not that these explanations necessarily preclude each other). If it was fabricated by a relatively recent (human) rather than a Mesozoic (alt-sapient) civilization, the pterosaur heads were merely fashioned in imitation of fossil discoveries. In either case, the boneless hydrostat limbs are probably more closely related to elephant trunks than to actual larval arthropodian prolegs.

(Because for some reason this issue is vitally fascinating, mystifying, and amusing to everybody but me)
