Description Keep track of your nanowrimo / camp nano progress, or any other project you wish by entering in some quick info. The spreadsheet will make the calculations and fill in dates for you.

In addition to the usual progress report of a word count tracker, the spreadsheet will tell you:
  • daily targets
  • average amount of writing you do per writing day
  • number of days you met your target
  • number of days you exceeded your target
  • number of days you've written in the established period

There are two tabs. One lets you enter in the amount of writing you do per day and the spreadsheet will calculate your total writings. The other tab lets you enter in your document / project total word count and will calculate how much you've written that day. I prefer the second method since I writing in one document for nanowrimo, but many people prefer the first. You only need to use the one you prefer.

You can use and reuse the spreadsheet by simply updating the dates (up to 31 days) and the goal. The goal is limited to a number but whether that's number of words, pages, stories, poems, etc is up to you.

Important Notes:

Created in Excel 2016 (compatibility not guaranteed and not tested!)

Created for personal use only. Do not redistribute without permission.

If you use less than 31 days for your start - end period, the spreadsheet will show harmless errors in the Daily Statistics columns for the unused days at the bottom of the list, but they should have no impact on the top data etc. Ignore them.

Quick question. How do I use this? I downloaded the zipfile. All I see is this in it --> sta.sh/015nn28ozko9
All it shows me is a bunch of XML files. Then when I open it in Microsoft Excel 2016 it shows me this --> sta.sh/0swbtdqr9jg

I am confused on how to get it to work. I'd love to use this.

There should be a download button and I think deviantart zips it so you may need to unzip. Also I said word earlier but I meant excel (was sleeping when I replied sorry).

Ung. Totally using for the year. The lack of a counter/spreadsheet thingy is the very reason why I can't write.

... But thankfully for July there is the counter on the camp NaNoWriMo website.

Yeah, nice to see them finally getting around to making that part of the site (and customizable with target).

I personally like to enter in my writing based on total doc so the counter tells me how much I wrote, and it has a couple other pieces of functionality not offered (as you mentioned, the spreadsheet works for other months too) so I still prefer spreadsheets.

Goodluck with writing!

I know! I was quite disappointed when I signed up years ago and there was no word count or graph. I can't seem to write without something like that. So I've never managed to do Camp NaNoWriMo before.

I've never tried a spreadsheet before, but I'm sure that it's better than just the vague "Oh I wrote something today"... And your spreadsheet looks very detailed from the preview image.

Thanks! Are you doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month?
