Amber, meanwhile, continued to recuperate—the effort of surviving Goremok’s flames, then jumping and delivering two devastating kicks to the dragon left her looking winded. Even Ki force had its limits.

I moved up closer, still cloaked by invisibility magic, and noticed a glint of amusement in Amber’s eyes as she watched the dragon choking on the very liquid that gave him life. A layer of sweat coated her muscled body and particles of sand decorated her tousled hair. The curved, toned form of her abdomen moved slowly in and out as she breathed in calmly, deeply. Her potent bone-shattering weapons—her bare feet—had tiny bits of cracked scales clinging to them, bonded by the sticky dragonblood now painting her soles.

To say the sight left me feeling aroused would be an understatement.

The old stories of famous swords or spears used to slay dragons, true or not, simply paled here. Amber’s bare feet could and did slay dragons; I saw all the evidence I needed right before me—and it was far, far more impressive than any sword or spear ever could be. I now knew exactly what she meant when she said a sword amounted to little more than a crutch.

Amber’s feet were her own powerful, natural weapons, not some detached, artificial instrument, forged of iron or steel. Her feet were “forged” with just flesh and bone—yet with them she could break dragonbone and scale harder than that iron or steel. This instilled a sense of enormous primal strength no sword could ever hope to match.

As I observed Amber’s body language, I could tell she intended to attack the dragon again at any moment. And I wanted with all my being to see how she would use those bare, beautiful, dragon-slaying feet next.

Epic. Want. I want this pose, damn it. It's such a great shot of the shape of the female body.

I'LL MAKE AMBER WAFFLES IF SHE POSES LIKE THIS FOR ME.

She definitely has a knack for posing in sexy positions, doesn't she? She'd make a natural model!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the human female body, especially when toned, is one of the most beautiful forms in nature IMO. It really is. And I don't just say this because I'm a guy!

Amber: Waffles, hmmm? With real maple syrup? I'm yours, babe.

REAL MAPLE SYRUP AND BUTTER.

<---- me dancing as Amber poses.

Brilliant, brilliant deviation and shot. I love the dynamic energy of this, and also the half-smirk, half-breathless expression on her face. -claps-

ON BELGIAN WAFFLES?!

Oh, and thanks so much!

You read Amber's expression perfectly. You can kind of see the not-so-hidden confidence dripping from her very face. She's not exactly a humble one, ESPECIALLY when she's pressing the advantage, which is quite often.

She's kind of similar to Juri from Street Fighter in some ways, except she's not batshit insane or evil. Just strong, cocky and often in control. She's not afraid to flaunt it. Or to taunt opponents before, during or after a fight.

It's not insanity, perchance, just a... different mindset

You've given her so much emotion though, it's hard /not/ to see it.

That's a good way of putting it!

One of these times I'll get around to writing a true introduction story for her, starting off as a girl, which will help show why she does some of the things she does.

Wow man! this series was great! I can't wait to see more of her. Maybe you should have her training an apprentice? They could fight in her dojo as practice (though I'm sure Amber could handle her) then the two of them go fight a dragon together?

Thrakki In reply to Carpediem833 [2010-07-29 04:18:10 +0000 UTC]

Thanks dude!

You'll see more of her for sure, once I eventually get this comic going again (which will definitely finish, I promise that).

That's not a bad idea you've got there. Going by the lore I've created, Amber would be considered one of the "elite" Rosethorn Monks of her temple, meaning she can go one on one with something like a dragon and slay it. So it's not totally out of the question that she might take on a promising student, who might have aspirations of reaching that rare and coveted elite status too. The student likely wouldn't stand much chance sparring with Amber though, unless she was taking it easy on her

Two sexy women beating down a dragon definitely has an appeal--depending on the power of the dragon, I could see Amber holding back some, letting the less experienced female monk get in more of her own blows on the dragon to help her learn how best to combat one. But Amber would definitely step in if she thought her student to be in any danger.

all these sequence is awesome, even I prefering human against human action, I have to admit that you're amazing creating your stories. I also have to suggest that you could done an evil Giant woman vs amazon heroine, with a amazon victory, do you ever thought something like this?

Thrakki In reply to auracomics [2010-07-01 04:20:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, I'm glad you like them

To be honest, I used to do human vs. human stories only, too. Those were fun enough to do, but over time I wanted something more. The concept of a strong heroine fighting and defeating big monsters using only martial arts popped into my head...and it was too cool and sexy to resist. I especially like dragons as an opponent, as I think they have many of the characteristics that make them a truly fearsome, powerful, dangerous foe--much more so than most any humanoid opponent. That's where my passion tends to be now.

I also tend to prefer the fights be female vs. male, with the female winning ultimately It's just my taste of what I prefer.

That being said, I have had some thoughts of doing renders of Amber earlier in her "career", before she had enough skill to slay dragons. Giants/trolls/minotaurs and such would be good earlier opponents for her.

PS: Along the same line as my thoughts above--do you tend to focus on female vs. female fights for a specific reason? Is that your own personal taste, like mine with female vs. male, or is there a deeper reasoning behind it? I'd love to see some of your characters fighting male characters, or even monsters, with their martial arts

auracomics In reply to Thrakki [2010-07-01 10:28:13 +0000 UTC]

well, of course you would be an experienced person at this theme, because I see a great expertise on your scenes and plots. You go direct to the point and with few words (or scans) you make a very appealing scenario!
I would like to see at least one shot that Amber against a giant and gorgeous woman. Of course this is my taste and not yours, so I hope that some day you feel like that and do something this way
For me, I have some years writing and creating those characters and themes, but I'm a newcomer into the comics world. I also became eager of more difficult foes to my characters beat, but all of then have those feminine characteristics (such as the Medusa, and others that will make their appear).
Also, my stories have male characters and will have male against female fights. It is because I too like fem vs male, but my number one prefer is still female against female. This may be because I also LOVE strong willed women (not only on fighting habilities) and I want to explore their characteristics more than the men ones.
It is not because I dislike men, on the opposite. I am not a feminist. But I feel that we have a lot of awesome male characters in the world, but a lot of feminine archetypes that weren't very well exploited

Thrakki In reply to auracomics [2010-07-02 03:39:54 +0000 UTC]

I do have a lot of pictures planned, but perhaps I could do one like you say, with Amber against a giantess...perhaps she will spare her life, unlike most of the dragons she fights, as the giantess was once human but now cursed.

If we're going to explore themes here though, I suppose it would be fair to ask then to see one of your female characters slaying a beast, maybe a dragon or some smaller wyvern or drake, using only martial arts

PS: I also enjoy strong-willed women too. Or just strong female characters in general. I find them just as appealing, if not more so, than male characters. And although I do fantasize about certain female domination scenarios, I'm not a male feminist...rather I am interested very much in equality. Except in bed, where I think it's more fun when the girl is the one in control

Yep, you've got totally right! She can and DOES slay dragons with her bare feet. She's one tough lady

Keep an eye on this series, because I will eventually complete it, and you'll see her using some more "footwork" to finish the fight with this dragon.

Another great image (Sorry i didnt comment earlier.)
I like the focus on the feet, showing the main weapon.
The guy watching better control himself. Im just waiting how he reacts to her afterwards lol.

Thrakki In reply to Inkquench [2010-02-15 05:13:45 +0000 UTC]

Haha thanks, that was definitely the idea there. Now, Amber can land a pretty good punch, but make no mistake, her feet are her main weapons, and can strike probably 3 or 4 times as hard as she can punch. And when she's fighting a dragon, she wants to be sure all her hits are as powerful as possible. That's why she hasn't punched at all in this comic. Or, in other words, that's my geek explanation/justification for why she pretty much only uses her feet to fight dragons

I'll just say the guy watching (Matthew) is supremely impressed watching Amber killing this dragon with those lethal kicks of hers (who wouldn't be?!), but he's also getting a bit, um, bothered in his pants as he continues to watch

This will only continue as the battle goes on.

Im still yet to put any ocs on here at the moment lol. I really need to.

Well, to make a long story short, he was traveling through the desert when his mount died and he was left stranded. He happened to meet Amber by chance as he was walking down a trail. Lucky for him too, as she had water and he needed it badly.

He wondered what she was doing in the desert, and she told him. Needless to say, what she told him got him very interested, even though he was quite skeptical. And, as a bard, he makes part of his living through scribing tales, and he's getting a hell of a one traveling with Amber.

You really should create an OC! Maybe the bikini girl from your comic? Though, if you'd be interested, I'm open to the idea of other people creating Rosethorn Monk characters. One of my friends on this site created one of his own. There's a few rules to follow, but otherwise, I have no problem with other people having Rosethorn Monk characters (they're not all necessarily dragonslayers like Amber, even if they are capable of it).

Since i have a series planned myself i have loads of ocs. One i mentioned before about the cowardly deliquent Damian Range. but im sure i can make a rose monk character ( with the rules lol.) and yes bikini is an oc but she needs to have more of a bio. It would be hilarious to have damian meet amber.

It's a powerful, breathtaking drawing, good work! It's great to see Amber's sole showing the scales of the dragon. She's human, it would be good too to see her soles slightly damaged, scratched after such a hard battle.

Thrakki In reply to dg2001 [2009-12-31 02:20:51 +0000 UTC]

Thanks man! It's fun adding details like that.

You're right--Amber is human. But remember her Ki energy gives her superhuman powers. What's more, it's easiest to channel Ki energy to the feet (only without footwear though, as clothing, being unnatural, obstructs the flow of Ki). Ki is also simply at its most powerful as it channels through the feet; no other part of the body comes close.

This is why Amber, or any sufficiently trained Rosethorn Monk, can kick hard enough to break dragonbone/scale. But it's also why Amber can walk on, run, kick and stomp any surface without a hint of harm to her feet. They're naturally tough, and Ki makes them essentially immune to harm.

She could walk on shards of glass or thick nails without any injury. In fact, she could dip her feet into lava if she wanted--it'd be quite uncomfortable and her whole body would be sweating, but her feet wouldn't be harmed.

P.S.
Useless fact of the day: Amber has actually never worn footwear in all her years of life. She's always been barefoot. Her father's unusual "punishment" at the young stage of her life prevented her from wearing shoes. And by becoming a monk later, the expectations of the Rosethorns were that shoes could never be worn inside the temple, and they were discouraged outside it too. But by this point, Amber was so used to having no shoes, she preferred being barefoot anyway.

I definitely could! And I would hope she'd be willing to let me worship her wonderful soles. Better not piss her off though--since she has the power to smash a dragon's face in with those feet, just imagine what they could do to a man.

It would be a very fine line between bliss and permanent disfigurement, and that's if she goes easy on you
