Description
I wanted something purple to draw so behold a drake a creature who's lore that I whipped up while I was at work. It not the right purple though it came out a lot darker than what the cap suggested.
Theses poor pitiful creatures were never ment to exist. Essentially the first drakes were just deformed dragons that bread and evolved into the drakes that the world of Drionus knows today. Stolen as eggs during one of the many wars on Drionus they were intended to be used as weapons. However, away from their natural breeding grounds and thus not incubated properly the dragons born had patchy scales, deformed to non existent wings, and are nearly blind due to their tiny partially formed eyes. They also lacked the intelligence of their ancestors and prone to a more aggressive behavior. Some of the lucky ones however have been show to be capable of speech and these are the ones that generally lead the rest of them. Its unaware if the other ones are capable of understanding anyone not of their own species or if they even have anything higher than animal level intelligence.
Drakes also possess tiny amounts of their ancestors natural elemental abilities that just barely give them enough edge to survive. Such as the golds being the only ones capable of sight thanks to their once natural affinity of time and space, the blues capability to sense the energies around them to give them a form of sight similar to heat vision and their ability to make things levitate, the reds being the only ones with a breath weapon and whatnot, or the greens being lords of the forest allowed them to be master hunters even without the full use of their senses.
Over time as these drakes bred together such as red and blues making purple etc. and thus some powers have mixed but overall no one color has much of an edge on the others
Nowadays some of these drakes have been tamed to be used as mounts while most still live in the wild. Those that live in packs generally hide in the furthest reaches of civilization while others that are more capable of taking care of them self may stray near small villages or roads to profit off of the easy pickings of the weak before running away when reinforcements arrive.
Other random facts:
-The only dragons that were spared from this fate were the black dragons. With their eggs being incubated in pools of lava they were unobtainable.
-Greens are the most dangerous as their hunter abilities make them more feral.
