He's trying to be antisocial, but...he's so cute I'm sure people will pester him constantly for hugs and to pet his hair! X3Near is from the anime/manga Death Note, and belongs to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.

I'm not sure if he dislikes physical contact, or just isn't close enough to anybody to feel like hugging them.

I've had people pet Near's hair before in my work. I he didn't seem to mind so much, as long as they asked him first. Apparently it doesn't quite feel natural, it's more like a really soft fur.

Sometimes I leave them long in the beginning. Look at it this way, if you get the description out of the way at the start, you never have to bring it up again, right?
So far, each character has at least a paragraph dedicated to their 'look' in the Wammy's fan fic, but once I've done that, I only need to mention the suttle difference in things like attire for the rest of the story.
By the way, I'm almost finished with chapter one. So excited!

I noticed that while writing Feather, I drifted into something that resembled your writing, almost like poetry. I like it, but I think I've managed to put a little of 'you' into the character somehow...puzzling.

I am, but I do have some progress done on the fourth chapter. I think maybe I lost a little bit of my readership with the lack of action, but once the intro is finished, and hopefully chapter four is the last chapter of the intro, then I can focus on the bigger plots.

XD LOL--yeah, Near and Haru would probably get along very well! Haru would make up tall tales for Near's bedtime stories, and Near would lead Haru around by the hand since Haru has no directional sense whatsoever--it would be adorable!
