Thanks for asking first! Yes, you may color and repost it if you follow my really, really tiny list of rules: you must credit the lineart to me and link back to the original in the picture description, you must not repost it anywhere but DA, and please, PLEASE don't call it a "base". Other than that, I require that you have fun.

This leather jacket guy here is one of my most popular random OC pics.

So you won't post my pic anywhere else, you'll just save it to your computer and use it as a visualization kind of thing? I'm okay with that, yeah. I'd prefer it was not reposted anywhere or altered, though, please.

Nice I love his jacket. Its very cool. Clothes are a bitch for me to design. You're so lucky you can come up with a design. Great job, I love it. Keep up the great work. You're a great artist.

Ah, thanks! I had seen several leather jackets in person when I drew this, so I had a better mental image than I usually would have.

I agree! I rather enjoy informative dicussions where some disagreement is possible, but not full out arguing for the sake of arguing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-07 00:24:52 +0000 UTC]

Exactly! Discussions where people respect each other when they disagree are actually very enjoyable, because they allow exchanges of different perspectives on things and help me to see the world from even more angles than my mind might have come up with on its own. Arguing creates tension and negativity, though, neither of which I make a habit of wasting my time with much.

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-07 03:14:27 +0000 UTC]

Eh, some people just can't handle negativity. It's understandable. Some people need someone to just listen to them as they speak their own negative thoughts out loud. I'm really a good person for that apparently, as I really don't respond or get affected outwardly by the negativity.

I've just become really good at hiding what affects me, and what doesn't. Only on occasion do I let something slip. I do this so people have a stable outlet honestly. Some people just need a peson like that. I don't mind being that person.

You'll find that most people are not like this...they don't listen to other people and they don't take the time to deal with people, even on their negative levels. If people took the time to listen to each ther on all levels, stronger relationships could be forged and maintained.

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-07 03:23:06 +0000 UTC]

I'm not bothered by people who are upset about something or ranting...rather, I don't relish being screamed at if somebody disagrees with me, when I always (and I mean that, ALWAYS) very carefully maintain a calm and civil tone, even about things that make me mad or that I disagree with strongly.

What really gets to me is when somebody is directly angry at me, because I am meticulously polite and friendly and respectful to everyone, so I don't feel that I've done anything that justifies their abuse. You know what I mean? And even when it does get to me I don't get angry--I get upset before I get angry. >>;

Being the good listener for others to vent on is a kind thing to do, but I'm sure that too much negativity at once can affect even you. Don't take on TOO much, okay?

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-07 03:48:23 +0000 UTC]

I attempt to do the same, though occasionally a raised voice gets the job done. I rarely raise my voice though, so I think those who have heard me do so believe it to be scary.

I would never get directly angry with you to the point of shouting. If I did, I would have most likely left long before I would have shouted. What I don't like are the people who blame you for their own negativity. You can see it's their fault and their problem, yet they claim you are the weak link in their life. That is annoying and warrents me usually not being friends with that person for long (if at all, depending on when the accusations started).

I do understand...though some people just get angry at the first person they see because they are in denial about the overall problem. If you can figure out that problem before they reveal it to you, it's often a good way to help them get to that point faster, rather than listen to them scream at you about pointless things.

Heh, I don't have good outlets like myself among my friends. The reason I end up taking so much negativity is not because I don't have problems of my own, it's because I know they have way too much to deal with on their own. I am being far more considerate of their feelings than they are of mine, and it rarely bothers me. The only case it gets to me is the case above, in which I don't tolerate it.

I enjoy listening to people. I really do...because even though they are negative a lot of the time...they are positive too. They can have really interesting stories to tell, or facts that you never knew. It doesn't just come from the elderly or the wise, it comes from all age groups and it fascinates me. I enjoy that aspect of people...that aspect of communication. Maybe that's why it's so easy for me to deal with the negativity...because somewhere else, someone has a positive story to tell, or a joke to share. I try to be that person for my friends too...so that they aren't always stuck in their negative mindsets.

Well, my five strengths are: Strategy (realist), Imput, Ideation, Connectedness, and Communication. I think I am creative, but in a situation that demands realistic results I am creative for that purpose. But I consider myself more creative than analytical...which my mom disagrees with.

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-09 02:00:06 +0000 UTC]

True...though I am a bit of a sadist. I suppose that could be considered slightly meanly inclined...though I'm not really. ^_^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-09 02:10:10 +0000 UTC]

LOL; being a sadist in the fictional sense is perfectly fine. Enjoying watching real people suffer is entirely different, and I doubt you do the latter.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-09 02:24:40 +0000 UTC]

I do not enjoy watching people suffer. I am slightly sadistic in the sense that I am not as moved as some people are by the sufferings of others. Perhaps it is lack of emotional connect to the situation, but it's very difficult to explain. I do not enjoy seeing suffering. However, when I am faced with it, it somehow does not bother me as much as it probably should. Instead of being frightened by it, I am fascinated by what is causing it and perhaps because of this motivated to stop it. I suppose that's the best way of explaining it. The fascination to understand it, but then the moral understanding that it must not continue.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-09 02:42:33 +0000 UTC]

It's not sadistic unless you actually enjoy seeing somebody else suffer; not being as affected as other people doesn't make you a sadist. Sadism is enjoying others' pain, like masochism is enjoying being in pain yourself. *Researched this for Slayers fanworks once upon a time, LOL*

It sounds like you're just cool-headed even in situations where others might give in to empathy for the suffering person and become upset over what they're seeing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-09 02:48:30 +0000 UTC]

Ah, but you can have sadistic tendencies without being a full sadist, which is what I seem to be implying more than I am actually a 100% sadist. (nice )

Eh...I don't know about cool-headed 100% of the time. It's more like, I will do what is needed in certain circumstances, even if it seems outwardly wrong as long as it is protecting the majority of people. I do not enjoy compromising many people for the sake of being afraid to take action. I can do this without compromising my own morals and beliefs, and so I refer to myself as a bit sadistic because I often share Near's sadistic take on things.

Threshie In reply to RuneQuicksilver [2009-03-09 03:20:35 +0000 UTC]

Hehe--I see what you mean. I think you're right...and thank goodness you're not 100% sadist!

I mean you're cool-headed in situations where other people might get caught up in empathizing with the person who's suffering and thus upset themselves to the point of not being able to do what needs to be done. My mom's kind of like this; she used to work in health care (mental health, as a matter of fact) and had to deal with medical emergencies a lot on a daily basis.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RuneQuicksilver In reply to Threshie [2009-03-09 03:34:56 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I suppose that's a good way of explaining it. I would say I am OUTWARDLY cool-headed, as inside of my head many things could be going on...though in the end I'm sure the cool-headedness prevails and thus I am able to handle the situation.

At 11:34PM after returning to college, my ability to explain goes out the window -_-'
