Thanks for the comment. I kind of had a visual idea in mind for the imagery. As far as technique, ballpoint pens require a lot of practice for me and I am still trying to improve my technique/style. There are many artists who find it easier than me and are much better at it than I will ever be.

Thank you very much. My technique is a combination of stippling/pointillism, hatching, and cross-hatching. I don't smudge or use ink wash.

I have done a lot of ball point pen drawings, and I know how difficult it can be to get a good smooth gradiation when working on shading- you did a great job here with that. Very nice work, the eyes in particular look very real. Keep rockin'!!

How did you get the watercolor-even-tone using a ballpoint pen? Was it water-based ink in the pen?

What size was the original paper?

Nice work--very enviable control over the tool.

For "hate" I rather expected more angry/agitated body language-- hunched shoulders, pinpoint pupils, tensed muscles, lowered brows over the eyes...

Thank you very much for the comment. It's 100% ordinary ballpoint pen drawn on a small piece of paper. My technique involves a complex series of hatching, cross-hatching, and pointillism/stippling.

Would love to see a blow-up of part of the sketch in your "scraps" gallery, to see the technique. At the current resolution, it's hard to see how you got that watercolor-wash effect.
