Yeah I know of Susan Boyle , just researched and I didn't watch Britain's Got Talent when it first started, plus it was a while back when I didn't really pay attention to anything on the news xD

I admit, I do find it odd how certain people who are very famous, like, REALLY famous in our country won't make it to America. It's almost like chance lol, some do, some don't make it in America You can hardly tell who will or won't.

it's like, Katie Price (Jordan, model), she is known pretty much by everyone here but turns out she's hardly known at all in America (last time I heard...though I don't really like her anyway xD)

Yeah, never heard of her, or Doctor Who. I think Potts and Boyle are so popular here because the whole rags-to-riches "I'm a fugly loser, but I'll have my day in the spotlight" theme resonates so strongly with our culture.

Plus, of course, our TV audience has a love affair with British accents XP When spoken by you guys, even the dumbest sh*t sounds like soothing words of wisdom from a PhD. X3

lol I still thought Doctor Who was well known in America I watch a few American artist who obsess over him more than I do xD

and I think you're right on some levels though. The media over here is also the same way but also has this strange obsession with Katie Price D:

I've been told I sound posh since I come from down South but Southern accents here can also sound rather common (cockney or western "farmer" accents xD)
