And then Julie-Su punched him, which probably wasn’t the best idea. Way to get serious creeper status there, Enerjak.
Back when Archie did Sonic the Hedgehog blogs to coincide with the comics, there was a short story featuring Enerjak’s POV. In the beginning of Knuckles’ reign of terror, Julie-Su vanished and went into hiding. He still deeply loved her, and would have given her the world. Unbeknownst to him that she was pregnant, and she fled to save her child from his twisted soul.
Those blogs don’t exist anymore, but that story always stuck.

Dang, Knuckles. You creepy. ._.
But I really like the idea of Dark Knuckles getting some ancient warrior armor instead of just being a shadier version of himself. Read both Enerjak Knuckles arcs, but the dark future one I liked a lot better. The design looked a lot more intimidating and considering the only thing that could actually hurt him were his own attacks, the whole demi-god thing came off as a lot more believable.

A interesting look at the sonic universe. Knuckles as a villain works since he a Shadow are anti-heroes and he was a villain at first when he first met sonic due to a misunderstanding I believe.

Julie-Su may be "gone" from the comics (hopefully, temporarily) but she will never disappear from our memories and will live on through fan art and fanfics xD >.<

personally I didn't like the knuckles enerjak he became first when Finitevus messed with the Emerald. No what I would love to of seen was knux in that arc become THIS enerjak, or at least have this one's design. This design felt less like a Dimitri wannabe and more like a new Enerjak, a different and just as dangerous Enerjak. (Though as fans had drawn, I still would have liked to of seen a Finitevus enerjak 
Though personally I prefer Dimitri-jak XDD, though I wasn't a huge fan of this story arc I did like seeing Silver in action, the alternative Edmund and how Mammoth Mogul was Silvers tutor, I don't know why but I really liked that
Also I rather like Jani-ca's enerjak design too
ANYWAY, personal opinion aside, you've done a bang up job of knuckles here, he looks just as bad as he did in the comic, he's a total creeper without a care here. Though I really love how you did Julie here, she looks awesome. Also the texture too!

Knuckles' original Enerjak was probably just an afterthought. The dark version just felt way more thought out about how to make it a bit more original.

Yes dark knuckles-jak certainly looked and felt a bit more refined, he acted differently from Dimitri, he still seemed to have young and brash sort of decisions. Though he didn't seem as old and wise (and insane) as Dimitri did but he was still pretty darn evil, with an awesome new design which helped him become his own entity and less a Dimitri wannabe.

I wish that I would have saved the short stories! They would have art contests, answer fan questions with different characters, and sometimes publish short stories or extras that couldn't fit in the comic. ;___;
Archie used to host them on their website, but I think when they moved servers and it severely broke the blog. They haven't been updated since 2011. I have no idea why it was stopped, unless they just tossed their hands in the air after the malfunction.

The whole insane-world-conquering-Knux idea never made any sense to me. When I was dumb and didn't know how to question how nonsensical the idea was, I was just curious on how it was supposed to end up that way. But now I do just accept the idea laid out in the Silver arc of an alternate-timeline.
I'm still gonna miss these two. Great emotional piece.

Enerjak Knuckles is kind of like a play on the Other-M fancomic Knuckles. I was totally cool with that, because he was freaking INSANE. He's way too adorable in the book to ever go crazy by himself, but it's always fun to explore AU.

I still wish those blogs existed, but I read about this more on the wiki, if I remember right. ;A; It was because of Knuckles/jak that I got back into the comics again. I was like 'wait...whoa...Knuckles is a villain...??' and the Silver/Jani-Ca/Knuckles Enerjak series was going abouts when I picked it up at my local comic shop.
I still need to draw Knuckles in his Enerjak look. It's a fave. But I am a sucker for Egyptiany things.

Not even gonna lie about it, drawing Enerjak is difficult. Like, open the back door and throw your tablet pen outside, frustrating. I would have loved to collaborate on this story. I applied to be an inker around that time, but nothing ever came of it. Ah well~

Given the insane amount of detail on all Enerjaks...I cannot say I blame the response to his designs. Maybe it's the sadist in me, but I would love to take a crack on it sometime. I know I did him once, but it was a super old piece I never finalized and cringe at now.
Booo... DX I wish something had come of that. You probably would have rocked it. Ah well--I am sure something will open up for ya, and if not--there is fandom things to be done to keep the memories alive~

Yes, just try to draw Enerjak. You will then know pain and suffering.
I feel a bit too jaded to do much good for comics for hire, but it's probably from being bummed out. They already had some fabulous inkers, and they just weren't in demand for that position when I showed my work. My time is such a precious commodity, and I'd have to try again to show my ability as a generalist. It'd be a great source of extra income though. I was under the illusion that I had all the time in the world, and now it's just a missed opportunity to do work for the old continuity. The bummer is there wasn't any guarantee that'd you ever draw specific characters, but are left with the flavor of the month. Such is the nature of the business, and you have to be flexible. Will just have to try harder, and get lucky. In the end, I'll probably end up doing my own thing.
