fubar is the social networking site where I have been for 3 years now. Compared to myspace or facebook it's a lot flashier. You do have to be 18 to join. It seems to be where all the cool kids hang out, people who love art, love music, and there's over 3 million people now. You can't advertise there, but people often ask if they can buy and I've sold more prints there than here and for more money. Here's a join link if you want to try it out. [link]

Very interesting shot. I love looking at stuff in barns but this is the tidiest that I've ever seen.

That's very cool. I'll have to check into fubar, I've never heard of it.
When I was living in Illinois I got asked to take some pics of the outside and inside of houses for a realtor that I knew since her lady was on vacation. The house went from sitting on the market for 6 months to being sold in weeks. She thought it was because of the pics and flyers that I made for her. (They also got posted on the internet with the listing) I had a fairly steady second income after that until we moved.
Were your pics of the barn for that kind of thing or something personal?

The barn is the home of my friend Gary, where he has his harvest party every Oct. It's a great photo opportunity because it's high on a hill with a great view and the barn, an old pig barn, is always adorned with wild flowers and food.
These pics and several others were taken there. [link] [link] [link] [link] [link]

That's beautiful!!!
We had friends like that and we always had pig roasts and corn roasts and music festivals. One guy built an outdoor stage onto his barn with a roof and all and they brought mixing boards and every instrument imagineable. There was plenty of room so they also set up a camping area so no one had to drive home. It was the best time I've ever had and the mix of music was incredible. It wasn't as fancy as this or high up on a hill so we didn't have a this kind of view but it was still fun. I was always in charge of baking the chocolate chip cookies and organizing activities for the kids.

That is quite a website!
What an incredible place he lives in. I don't know of anywhere else that you could get away with doing anything like that these days. For a while we looked at property in the hills of N.C. and even then they had homeowner's associations and rules you had to go by about what you could build and how and what you could store on your acreage. It was crazy. Your neighbors were miles away so why should you have any constraints like that.
This guy does sound very down to earth but I think he must be special in many ways. I don't think I know of anyone else that would throw open their doors to anyone reading their website! Besides...who said farmers aren't special?! I think "regular guys" are the most special and becoming more and more rare.

He is a great guy. There are very few places around here, OH, WV, or PA where you have to worry about zones or codes. You can just live wherever you like.

This wasn't even zones or codes it was the homeowner's associations that were imposing regulations and charging you for it! I just don't get it. All we want is a chunk of land where we can grow stuff and work in the yard and be left alone. Your neck of the woods sounds good.
