I sorta agree with you on that one because there so much black ink that I can hardly tell where Iron man begins an were the black stops but other then that I think it looks good.

Thats not the stuff Im talking about. I didnt add the black areas. Thats how it was penciled. Im speaking in terms of my playing it safe and only inking what Joe penciled, not adding anything to it.

well playing it safe is always a good thing when you have devoted fans who by your comics

you do have a point there but with out your penciler you wouldn't have much of a comic but I agree with you in the sence that with out the fans you would have no eather way your out of luck.

Tim, This is very cool! Where do you get the dots for the shadowing. Is it done by hand or are they something you buy on a transparent paper? Dont mean to sound dumb.

Its called zip-a-tone and used to be used all the time in comics. Its an adhesive sheet with different kinds of patterns that you just cut out and paste on the page. The stuff is almost impossible to find these days. Most of the time people just do this effect in the coloring process, on the computer. Ive always loved the look of the zip right on the black and white original art though. Yet another cool thing we've lost to the digital age.

Does inking artists who have different styles like Joe's make it harder to ink pages? I'm very curious as to why you would want to redo this and how you would do that.

Wow, Zipatone! Flashback! Dennis Jensen, an old-school DC inker and local hero when I was a kid, used to walk around with little bits of that stuff all over his fingers...ah, memories...

I wish I could draw like that man. Even though he's done so much for Marvel I really wish he would draw more, his work on Spider-Man recently was amazing. Also, even though Danny Miki is amazing I would love to see you 2 working on something!

By far, some of my favorite stuff from Joe Q; and you inks just add to the mix making a real nice finish!
If I'm not mistaken, it was really rare up until this point to see someone inking Joe's stuff who wasn't named Jimmy.

This is one of the first pinups I ever colored when I was combing the internet for lineart. I did horrible on it, but Laura Martin (Depuy at the time) was kind enough to give me a solid critique which drastically improved how I colored overnight. It was such an impact that had she not said anything I probably would have quit trying to color out of frustration within the next couple days. So in a way I have you and Laura to thank for this horrible 3 books in one week deadline I'm on right now. Thanks!
When did you add the zip?

Oh don't misunderstand! Isanove did the pro coloring job. I colored this cause I found it on the internet before I was pro.
