A name with meaning is really nice and thoughtful. But this throws in a new thing i'd like to know. Why König.
That makes it even more confusing for me. König is quite masculine, Königin would be more accurate as the feminine counterpart for König. You probably knew that already, didn't you?
But after looking up the Edelweiss flower, i found that the a empress of austria has a strong conection with the flower. So why not Empress or the more german like Kaiserin. Would fit the image of Edelweiss, i guess.
Or did you just choose the name part König on a whim or because it sounded nice, with no more meaning behind it?

I named her König because in the story I made up she is the daughter of King Aster and Queen Dahlie of the Kingdom Amaryllis.
Even though the edelweiss flower is indeed closely linked to Austria I decided to go with the German spelling of all these flowers. This is because, while I learned a bit of German in high school, I don't know the first thing about Austrian. I've heard they're very similar, but I didn't feel like constantly looking up the Austrian spelling of words when I most likely would've known the German one already.
That said, my German is bad, I can understand it just fine but I can hardly make sentences of my own. This is why I chose to go with German names only for now. The rest of this 'world' I'm trying to create for Weiss will be purely fantasy. Something that isn't depicted here for example is her serpent-like dragon, Blanche (Reference Sheet | Weiss and Blanche .) For as far as I know here in Europe we have way different dragon depictions than the ones in Asia, but I made Blanche look more like an Asian dragon anyway. For the fantasy aspect as well as for the fact that she's originally from a different kingdom.
So yes, long story short, I named her König because she's of the Royal family. So while all their names are German (except for Blanche of course), the rest of Weiss' world will hardly have anything to do with the German language or culture, as I'm not familiar enough with it to confidently implement it into this character. Also, if you're particularly interested then I already wrote a little bit of world building here: WEISS AND BLANCHE . I can't say I'm a good writer, and this is quite old, so I am sorry if it's boring to read through haha
Oh btw, I've been in love with edelweiss flowers ever since I saw 'The Sound of Music' as a kid, which is also why I chose it for this character

The artwork looks fantastic! But i wonder why did you call her ''Weiss''? Is it because of her only slightly colored eyes?
