Gonna be off to bed because I have to get up early tomorrow to take care of grandma. BUT BEFORE I DO...I have a new cute critter to show ye! I mean most fantasy worlds need a sort of cute mascot critter, amirite? League of Legends has the Poros. Or how Fairy Tail has Exceeds. I dunno, you guys probably know more examples than I do, BUT I GOT...Water Babies!
Otherwise known as Dire Water Fleas!
One of the most prolific organisms on Cauldron, they can be found in just about any stinkin' place where there's a body of water. They feed on aquatic plants, such as seaweed, moss, algae, lots of stuff of that sort. Coincidentally, their dung has the magical property to bolster plant growth. Particularly the blue-greens they love to eat. So, put some Watee Babies in into a lake, river, or what have you, and they'll find a way to thrive.
Their efforts allowing lots of other wild animals to thrive alongside them, making their presence a beneficial one.
Many humanoid races know this. And for ages, migratory races have taken these little'uns with them. Sometimes as food. Sometimes to help grow food. Sometimes to use their dung as potion ingredients. Sometimes as pets!
Either way, their domestication is beneficial to a LOT of different races.
In turn, this long history of humanoid aid has made Water Babies very docile and naturally inclined towards friendliness with people. Why they even spread their arms, because they know what hugs are!

Even if they are everywhere on Cauldron, it still seems like a random thing to use as a mascot for the series as a whole. 
Also, trying to add them into the story now would be kind of abrupt. It'd be better if you used something more plot-significant or something that has already been established if you MUST have a mascot. Not everything NEEDS a cute animal mascot though. I'm trying to think of what might meet the qualifications, but I can't think of one. The part where most of these mascots are introduced is near the beginning anyway. But we're long past the beginning now. And even if you have introduced them before, they haven't been featured nearly enough to stay relevant.
These are like the porgs from Star Wars. Cute, but essentially irrelevant and just something cute for the sake of having something cute. Not needed at all but still there. Sure, they may be beneficial in some way, but that doesn't make them important to the plot. They're a sudden inclusion that is just there and shouldn't be deemed worthy of being a mascot. You shouldn't need something cute to keep people interested or to draw them in. Because that's exactly the purpose of cute mascots. Do you think your work isn't good enough to draw people in on its own? Do you think a cute mascot will add something the series was missing? Sure, they expand the lore a bit thanks to the extra details, but that still makes them more or less just another creature that exists in the world. I'd say keep them around, have them get a bit involved to show they are important to everyday life in Cauldron, but don't use them as a mascot for FantasTech. But this is all just my opinion, so make your own choice regarding it.

Actually I wasn't 100% serious when I referred to them as mascots.
I just referenced it as such for fun since I figured a lot of fictional works liked to have a cute critter as their mascot. It WAS pretty late at night, so I only came up with two examples at the time.
Sooooo no, I'm not ACTUALLY gonna make Water Babies of all things the series mascot!
Maybe King Norbert? Tara? Liliel? Any of them could very well be the face of FantasTech.
Speaking of which...I've GOTTA come up with a logo for the series!
