Description Cephalogalionus, a species of Thaida's Precambrian age. once ruled the seas of Thaida, and possibly still does.

the name of Cephalogalionus, to this point is only temporary. as many scientests on Thaida's Colony agree that a better name can and will be coined.

Cephalogalionus is a species of squid that evolved 1,030 billion years ago on Thaida. it was three times the size of the Giant Squid. and would make a quick lunch of the Sperm Whale (the Giant Squid's natural predator) it has been discovered that it was completely carniverous and was the terror of the oceans. a female could reach the length of 176 ft, while a male would become 8 ft longer.

its diet comprised of Thaidian Whales, sharks and Nytaracus, thaida's most largest sea lobster. even though the thaidian sharks and whales have mostly evolved into smaller representations of their ancestors. the Nytaracus and most possibly the Cephelogalionus still lives today.

Cephelogalionus's intelegence was alot like that of modern day Earth Squid. capable of opening jars. and outsmarting prey.

Cephelogalionus had no known predators. but it DID have a natural rivalry with Nytaracus. often they would fight. till one either desides to retreat or till one was killed by the other.

unlike most cephelopods that had no bones. Cephelogalionus Tusks/Horns, head and some boney plates where found in fossels. the spines along the dorsal area of the pen, had some flesh that connected to each one to form a fin.

like all squids, Cephelogalionus had the ability to shoot ink. although unlike with earth squids that use their ink to escape or hide. Cephelogalionus used its ink to blind its prey or enemys so they can't fight back.

there are signs that makes many colonists believe the species still thrives. though only dwells in undersea caves and in areas the presure is too great.

it may have the ability to glow. it has four sets of eyes and can see like most squids can. as well as be able to see electric energy.
