Description My beloved Chaos Havocs. They haven't failed me a single battle. Had a lot of fun converting these, they're based on the Loyalist Devastator squad, but with major changes, such as Chaos Warrior Heads, icons and skulls taken from the Marauder Horsemen kit and lots of fleshy goo. Please tell me what you think

Really nice job man, looking forward to starting my Chaos army soon defiently going for Death Guard. Quick question, how many Havoc's do you have in a squad ? I was thinking of only having 5 but don't know if i should bump it up to 7-8.

Hey, thanks! Chaos Space Marines are very rewarding to play, good choice! Havocs are 5-20, but only 4 may have heavy/special weapons. Adding more members is probably only to protect the ones carrying the big guns, or if you are going for a unit with assault weapons, four flamers or meltaguns WILL hurt.

you know, its odd. My havocs (and when i say havocs, i basically mean my one laz canon guy) have single handedly turned most battles they've partisipated in into victory's. Hell, in their first ever game thay killed the enemy librarian in termy armour on their first shooting fase. As it was a 500 point battle that was half the enemys points.

Thanks! It is a concept my whole army is built on, I think they've been in the Eye of Terror a millennia or two too long!

i always thought it was crap that plague marines weren't supposed to have heavy weapons

Isn't it? I miss Feel No Pain and Fearless on my Havocs. Oh well, they can have a couple of Plasma Guns anyway, good enough, I suppose.

Same for me. Missile Launchers are the favourite troop-carried heavy weapon, followed by Lascannon. I dislike melta-weapons the most, since I CAN'T hit with them. Same for Hunter-Killer Missiles. In all my Apocalypse games I've had at least one Deepstriking Obliterator, and so far he's destroyed TWO tanks with melta weaponry. Also, my lord with combi-melta has destroyed ONE battlesuit. Out of alot of games. And not a single Hunter-Killer Missile hit so far, even though they hit on 4+ and I've included two or three in every Apocalypse so far...Guess we all have our ups and downs, eh? My up is Battlecannons. They practically never scatter, and when they do, they hit something else (for example, misses Hammerhead, hits and destroys entire unit with sniper-drone-thingys). ^^

ive never actually played the game and probably never will because im too poor to afford many models and even if that changed i'm pretty sure my army would not be up to code because it would be all plague marines and obliterators and dreadnaughts and no fast attack or demons or anything
i'm just in it for the modeling and conversion, and i might post what i've done someday if i ever get the balls to paint them (im scared i'll make them look terrible after all the hard conversion work)
but i totally know the rules and such and that sounds like a pain in the ass. actually now i know better if i ever DO play the game since i would have used nothing but multi-meltas and heavy bolters on all my crap just because i like the way they look xD

Ah, I see. Well, converting is definently the best part about warhammer ^^ The rules can be a bit troublesome, but once you grasp the basics the rest follows quite easily.

they are a fav man. Really awsome looking. I like to play havocs with the undivided icon, so they don't run away it hitted hard. But Mark of Nurgle is also a good option, with the mark of tzeentch. The other two marks are a little useless. I repeat myself. they're awsome.

Hey thank you, sir! Very appreciated! I've designed this army to be ALMOST completely Nurgle (with the exception of Raptors, who have the mark of Tzeentch, and I've got a good story to cover that). Most of the army is built out of scraps that just lay about anyway. Thanks again!

Well, I have to admit terminator armoured, weapon switching two-wounders of chaos deepstriking is just my cup of tea when it comes to gameplay, but I didn't make this army for gaming alone, but to enjoy making it. Thank you!

Oblis are nice, but for they to work you need 3, and well, they are good invested 225pts, but the havos have also their nice part. You can specialize them in AI or AT and are also not that costly.

Tri-M3000 In reply to Horacus [2010-03-22 22:41:39 +0000 UTC]

purely from a game point of view ... being able to Deep strike in and melta the enemy tanks (normaly a LR or other high value target) is priceless. You can then switch to plasma cannon and toast infantry. They are the best thing for any job.

I'm always happy to see some one playing with models that are (as it were) second choice. Heck if it wasn't that every one here power gamed i'd play my falcons more often.

I'd say 3 Obliterators and 5 Havocs go at about the same points cost, and both are definently worth it. Hard to say what to choose, but the Havocs can fire more guns in one turn, though the Obliterators deep strike. Hard to say wich one is best really. Both have ups and downs.
