Description Soooo when was the last time I drew some Street Fighter? Like 1/4 yr ago heh..  I rarely get motivated to draw certain characters and Ken is one of them (something to do with him being my husband's main and fav... urrrr....) but I just saw Assassin's Fist recently and o. m. g. I was just so impressed.  It actually made me care a bit more about these characters who aren't anywhere near in my favs

Went with Ken coz I found him more relatable out of the lot in that series.  I tried really, really hard to capture his raw, fiery spirit, which is what I think his fiery shoryuken represents in contrast to the more calm and collected Ryu.  His eye is only yellow because of the fire reflecting in it, not coz I 'changed' it   I did use bits of footage from the series for references especially in poses and constructing a face similar to Christian Howard's - as a tribute to his brilliant portrayal of the character   Think I got a bit carried away with the "raw/fiery" idea and went crazy with the background... eh...

I was so impressed with the characters in Assassin's Fist too--especially Ken. I don't know what it is but Christian Howard definitely has something in him that brings Ken to life. I love this picture of Ken. The colors, the expression, the freedom and chaos portrayed, are all so true to his character and so alluring. This picture attracts with its raw emotion and all of the implied meaning. And I don't think it counts as getting 'carried away' if the final product is true to the vision in your heart and mind. It definitely resonates with mine.

This pic kicks ass. It reminds me of one of my Street Fighter Comics with the foil edition cover of Ken's Dragon Punch. (It wasn't Alpha but it's friggin Ken, XD)

I've played Alpha and Alpha 3 and Street Fighter II as well as Turbo. Sadly I just own Alpha 3 and SF x TK on my PS Vita but heck that'll hold me down until I get another Street Fighter game like IV or some editions of II.

Anyways yeah this picture kicks ass and I definitely agree with you. Between the two of them Ken is more fiery. He even mentions it in one of his win quotes and you can see his raw spirit unleashed in his moves. I mostly use Ken in Street Fighter because well.... (when I was younger it was because he wore red, my favorite color.) Ryu's too mellow for me though I don't mind using him.

I don't think you went overboard with the fire. (You should see the cover of the comic I have.)

Overall great job with this and definitely keep up the great work.

No problem! Also Vega's Stage in Alpha 3 is my favorite stage to fight in. Also he's pretty badass in Street Fighter x Tekken.

nice i rly love ur art but i think u need to practice other faces all the faces looks like they came from the same char...dnt say ur bad cause ur art is awesome but i think u can go further by training other faces <3

Thanks for the constructive comment!  I am aware that I prefer drawing certain face types (and using certain proportions)  I did try to make this one look a bit like the actual actor, Christian Howard but I agree that he still have those similar facial proportions - will work on diversifying
