"Rain, Rain... go away."
While I appreciate any interpretation, and would love to hear yours, I would like to share with you what this painting means to me.
I still have a really rough time putting it into words without getting too particular.
I know a couple of people these days whom are deeply very sad. They genuinely feel broken and I know many of us can relate to that feeling. Especially if you are suffering from a long term illness of a physical or mental variety.
The cloud spirit is a sort of embodiment of my own feelings, the poppy is the symbol for my friends.
It takes a lot of time to understand someone truly, you have to be patient. You can't just pour all of your love onto someone because they are sad and hope that it makes them better because it won't. It may pacify a situation, but healing takes time and you need to know when to give space. Even that is easier said than done, because life is tricky and no one is perfect. We all need to cut each other a little slack.

The rain cloud looks down upon her garden and sees the poor poppy flower with a torn petal. The poppy sees that her petals are torn in her shadow while the rains flood around her. The poppy is in the moment, and forgets that with a little time, the nurturing rains will absorb into the earth and the poppy will be able to continue to grow and sow new seeds of opportunity for the near future. This saddens the rain cloud, because she wishes that her message would make it through, but it is unclear and quickly becomes more damaging than nurturing.
