Description Bryce 6.1 has some tweaks to make using HDRI a little smoother and not quite as render-hungry, and this is my first try at using it for something, in this case a view of my Airspace pod ... kinda cool I think!

Bryce 6.1 and PS...

Nice work...yes HDRI in Bryce sure makes extreme long render times - and it doesn't seem that it's much better in Bryce 7.0

Well I like the option to render the Bryce sky as HDRI, that's cool... w/my old computer it's hard to tell which is to blame lol.

Well IDK the programming aspects, but that's what it claied.. and it was faster for me. Bryce 7 beta is quite a bit faster still... :S

Oh, ok, I thought you had an idea to make it even faster. Yes, the 7b is faster, but still WAY slower than other softwares.

ty! It would take some work to get that model available, I'd have to try the new Bryce 6 mesh-making feature... not sure if it'd work for this one, but I'm actually planning to redo the cockpit and control panels soon so I'll wait for that I guess...

don't u think that if we can make cars like that they would be on aoutpilot?? i do belive hte car industry is allready testing something simillar LOL.
take the GPS
take the distance warning signals
and take the aoutpilot for am airopplane

et viola fully automated flying car LOL

two problems... people will want to control things themselves if possible, especially in some kind of emergency, and also that means the control system would have to work perfectly all the time or things would get really ugly really quickly lol...

I grabbed Bryce 6 as soon as I learned about it. I still don't quite understand the HDRI thing, though. Help? Very nice render, by the way ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TLBKlaus In reply to chasef [2007-04-03 16:00:19 +0000 UTC]

I'm just learning it too... it's a way of making the sky a picture that can also provide light and more-realistic reflections, and the HDRI pics themselves use a wider range of light-to-dark tones thana normal pictures... that's about all I know lol -- that and it makes for really long render times. I've got to learn how to use it in C4D -- that uses less time, I've been told...

chasef In reply to TLBKlaus [2007-04-06 21:36:17 +0000 UTC]

That makes sense. I was reading up on its use in Half-Life 2. Ha ha. Just about ANYTHING uses less time than bloody Bryce >_< That's why I wanna learn 3D Studio Max. I'm sure if I learned that, I'd be able to handle the rest. They're so complex, though, and I have a simple brain >.>

I prefer doing hdri in c4d since it tends to bring my render times up by a couple of days in bryce...
But this one's nice

it's kind of hard to tell where the cockpit ends............maybe a metal strip there or something would help differentiate. Overall this is a cool design though!

You've come the closest to noticing what no one else has lol -- there's no door! I'm going to be redoing the interior actually, and I'll make it more plain how one actually gets in and out of the damn thing lol..
