The denizens of the Mahi Moko archipelago have many pastimes, but none is as celebrated and draws as much enthusiasm as the game of Dotai. Here, two teams face off in magnificent arenas playing a game of offense-defense base capture. On the island of fire, Ahi Moko, the main dotai arena is built in and around exposed lava tubes. The steep walls make for effective borders while providing onlookers a comprehensive view of the high-energy, fast-paced game.
