Recap: Last time on Dragonball Z, Caroline was stranded in the caverns below: a frozen hell with no means of escape. However, she proved her worth as a warrior and defied the impossible! Reuniting with Fluttershy, the two set out to find Rainbow Dash. Hope is a luxury the saiyan can’t afford. The time to act is now! Caroline and the ponies are in for a surprise. Labyrinth pt. 2 ~The Lives We Tried To Reclaim~

“Fluttershy! Look, it’s Rainbow Dash!” The super saiyan erupted from the water climbing over the ruble. Caroline’s hard work was paying off. Her determination seems to defy impossible odds any normal human being would have perished against.

“Wow, what the hell is this place?” an astonished Caroline paused observing her surroundings, “this is completely different than anything I’ve ever seen before. I almost drowned in freezing water…but it’s…so warm.” Suddenly turning to the audience, “I dunno about you guys, but why is it that heroes get the worst end of the deal?” Flutterhsy noticed Caroline was still shivering as she rode her backside. How can an underground cavern go from freezing cold to warm and cozy by crossing thresholds? It was a mystery, but the saiyan was thankful Rainbow Dash was alive. She didn’t seem glad to see Fluttershy or the girl either. Instead, Fluttershy and the super saiyan were faced with a melancholic Rainbow Dash.

“Caroline…” Rainbow mumbled, “I’m sorry…I’m just, so sorry this happened.” Caroline kneeled down.

“Rainbow Dash?” she asked with concern in her voice, “are you feeling any better?”

“NO!” She shouted concealing her tears. “I wish I could have done something but-“

“Rainbow Dash? Are you crying?”

“Sometimes I go in over my head. I wasn’t there to protect you guys.” The saddened little Pegasus pleaded. Caroline wasn’t sure how to tackle the situation. The Pegasus gripped the girl in a desperate plea for a hug. Fluttershy never witnessed Rainbow Dash show traits of failure.

“Don’t feel bad, Rainbow Dash,” Caroline spoke softly emitting sparks of pure energy from her body. “This ain’t ‘cha fault. And I promise, I will get you home in one piece. (Ah…AHCHOOO!)”

“Yeah…” Fluttershy pitched in. The ol’ bird placed her hoof around Rainbow’s neck. “We WILL make it out of this together. Have you seen her power? She can make her hair longer! Or..um, at least I think she can. Don’t forget, she’s a princess too!” The entire situation was chipping away at Rainbow Dash’s Achilles' heel: her confidence. But she knew the struggle was only the beginning and she had to hold on.

Without the slightest hesitation, Caroline got up sprinting to the water-like ravine. Silence overtook the desolate cave. Both ponies glanced at each other with perplexity trying to make sense of what just happened.

“Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy,” Caroline broke the silence, “we have to get moving!” she informed with a fierce tone. Her teeth clenched and her fists balled tight.

“What’s up? Did you see something?”

“No, that’s not it. I felt a power signal, and…and (AHCHOO!)…and it’s rapidly slipping away. I can’t explain it, but all I can say is this: someone else is here and somewhere beyond the dark caverns someone is dying!” She informed.

~Lurking in the Darkness~

The saiyan and the Pegasi journeyed across the water into the hollow dark half of the cave and the search was on…

Fluttershy hitched a ride on the saiyan’s back as always. Her eyes clenched tight as she trembled with fear. Rainbow Dash was somewhat jumpy but she kept her cool. She’s had better days. Once again Caroline found herself drenching across water. Thankfully, the water level didn’t go past her boots. Most of the caverns are filled with water, and the apparent absence of life gives the place an eerie atmosphere, as the sound of water dropping into pools is the only thing to disturb the deadly silence. Some of them are so dark that it is impossible to see anything without the transition to super saiyan. Bats screeched as the droplets intensified. Some howls louder than others. The trio began trembling with fear. They felt as if they were being watched. A fog started to thicken around them. Ignoring the obvious circumstance, the saiyan blew the mist away with her energy. Twenty minutes after traversing the darkness, light appeared bringing hope to the young warriors. Successfully crossing the black cave, the signal started to get stronger. As it got stronger, they got more excited. Who exactly could this be? Fluttershy and Rainbow were convinced it was Pinkie Pie.

As the saiyan continued, she walked right into a water slide. Caroline and the ponies were in for the ride of their lives. After sliding down nine stories, they were plunged into a pool. The water clean and crystal clear, it was an adrenaline rush like no other. Our heroes found themselves in an aquarium: a fully operational turquoise aquarium that harbored plant life in hydroponic cases Fish swam freely in the tanks and the small pools in the area. Water slides were everywhere. It was constructed like an amusement park with an aquatic theme. The girls felt a bit more relieved. It was if the danger was truly over. Caroline started to wander. She knew she was closer to whom ever she was tracing.

“CAROLINE LOOK!”

“Ow, that was like, my ear dude.”

“Hehehe, sorry about that,” blushed Fluttershy. She spotted someone lying unconsciously atop a small pillar. As they got closer to see who it was, Caroline couldn’t believe whom it was. What strange personage is this that has been expelled out of the inner workings of the aquatic catacombs? And was her journey really worth it?
