Try giving this a listen while reading this description!Wait what? Where...are the ponies? No ponies?! No more CAROLINE?! Well...I do like to switch it up, and I don't plan on filling my gallery with little female horses! This illustration was a commission request. Commission or not, I was going to switch it up regardless!
I do like to draw other characters and I can switch it up from Goku to Fluttershy or even Daisy to Darkwing Duck...it's not very hard. I have a friend who can't EVEN draw humans. Who cares though, she's just a weakling but that person is a nobody. If you refuse to challenge yourself you're like a hamster on a wheel: you'll keep running but your not going anywhere! What was the deal with this image? Well it's simple: she likes Sonson and she wanted me to draw her. The goal for this was for me to make her look a little less average and a bit more appealing. Turning an average girl into a sexy but charming sweetheart? That's like asking SEGA to make a shitty Sonic game! It can be done with the greatest of ease! I can make girls look very attractive so I took the request and worked with what I got.
Seriously though, Marvel vs Capcom 2 is one of the best fighting games well known. Not only is it broken in terms of sufficient character balance but it's also the first games when we see two random worlds collide. Spider-Man taking a picture with Sakura? Rogue holding Roll's hand as if they were sisters? It's just completely different. The game itself is a masterpiece. The sequel for the game however....in terms is...ok. But it doesn't maintain the charm and charisma as the second game did. Takin' Cammy away from us for some Okami dog? Fuck that bitch (which is EXACTLY what it hence the gender), have you idiots gone mad? It feels so different and it's pretty much Marvel vs Capcom for dummies. It's totally not the same. Sometimes sequels can be good but sequels will never outshine the classics! This rule only applies with certain franchises. Look at the Sonic fanbase and how shitty it is? Do I REALLY need to go on?
However, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is amazing! The soundtrack is wonders to the human ears and the character roster is pretty large. It's definitely unbalanced I have to admit. I still give this game quite a few rounds time to time. I love going into random rooms and using my Magneto just for the hell of it. YES...that is correct boys and girls, I use Magneto and I go nuts if I don't wanna loose a match, If I decide to take it easy, I just won't use him...but most f the time when my people and I play and they see me use him they RANT and they don't even want it. But overall, this game is amazing. I totally plan on drawing another fanart...but that will come later in life...

The only thing I didn't like about the 2nd game was the music. I wasn't necessarily bad, but it did sound kinda awkward on some stages and all of the music in the game was pretty much generic jazz music. It should have been more diverse.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 was pretty good. And yes I agree. It is better than 3. It has a much larger character roster and alot more characters that deserve to be in. Seriously, they scrapped Mega Man for Zero. I thought that was a huge mistake on Capcom's part.

Awesome artwork Todd. I never got a chance play MvC2 but I can say I loved watching the speed of everything that was going on. And I definitely miss the large character roster. There are so many characters that didn't make the cut that really deserved to over some of the characters who did in MvC3.

You never played the game before? It's really amazing. It's so much better than 3. Marvel vs Capcom 3 in general is alright, but the second game is better. Even though the roster is unbalanced that will not stop people from playing the game and enjoying it!

Nah came out before my time, haven't had a chance to pick up the re-release but I will because I need to play with my classic boy/girl team Ken and Sakura on something that's faster pace than Street Fighter lol.

Nice work on the relaxed pose and I also like the expression she has! I do like Caroline but it's also great to see your renderings of other characters as well
The MVC2 soundtrack to me was...interesting. Like kicking each others' butts to the tune of smooth jazz. It was weird, but also cool and definitely different from the faster and more hectic tunes in most fighting games.

Caroline, Caroline, CAROLINE! To much of my own character. I'm sure she would want a break. I agree with you on that. The soundtrack to Marvel vs Capcom 2 was unique. It wasn't stereotypical like the average fighter would be. I do like the switch to jazz upbeat music. It's just outside the box and let alone it's a classic. But the cave level, the clock tower (preferred with snow), the swamp are my favorite locations. Ah man this game will always remain a classic.LD

Oh well, I don't mind. One thing I like about your gallery IS the variety. And I also like the idea of the girl sitting on the clouds (as a pinup and well I don't know Sonson, but anyway...)
It's good I like the perspective of her weapon, but I think her face looks a little deformed. It's the distance of the eyes, I think that's what kinda bugs me. But your shading is great as always.
If you want to know about my gift drawing...I hope it's okay that It will take some time. I have a lot of stuff to do, my drawing project and drawing own stuff, which I neclected for months.

Well, you actually wanted to draw her! I feel really heart warmed that you like her. You're the only one I actually seen fan art from her. I don't mind if people draw her, but if people want to then anyone is free to do so.
Lately it's been all about Caroline/Equestira and I don't want to flood my gallery with constant Shy/Line images. I don't want Caroline to be classified as a "pegasister" (which I was told actually). I will admit, I wanted her to gain some real exposure, so I thought the idea of creating a story involving her quest to save the world would work and it actually went really well. I had fun drawing it and writing the story segments to it.
As far as her eyes go, I don't really see anything wrong. I do see her eye brow placements a bit off, so that itself can throw other placements off, so I do see it. But mistakes are always present in drawings. We all do make mistakes and I'll learn from this next time. So thanks for pointing that out to me. I appreciate that for future reference.

Oh thank you. The heels must really stick out to you that much I assume? Well, heels I do like personally. I don't have a heel fetish...its just that I draw heels on girls so that's why I like 'em it seems.

That's actually what Michele said about the cloud. She said that the cloud looks so soft and comfy. But that was what she asked for so I did what she wanted. It makes me want to lay on it myself. Or rather, lay on my bed and think about life.

Well...we'll never know. But it's what they want to do. I don't mind it in 3D but if it would have at least had the same control scheme it would have been better. Not to mention its SO much slower than Marvel 2. Marvel 2 is ridiculously fast if youp lay it on Turbo 2. Psssh, I don't fuck with that. But if you play with Magneto he's the fastest character in the game! That's why I love that guy. He is...just amazing.

Gah, I can't use the Master of Magnet to save my life in any of the three games of this series he showed up in. I mean, his learning curve is basically a 90 degree angle going up!
Though, I did switch to Cammy and I gotta say, it feels right.

Well, Sonson IS rather weak unfortunately since she takes too much damage. It's really a downer when the characters you like take the most damage. I hate that in certain games. and to think...I been working on Magneto the most. Man, that guess and his magnetism is just...mind fuck. I love that guy, man.

Sonson has earned a place in many hearts. Her design from that old game did her MAJOR justice. she looks really good in terms of character design. The artist behind the artwork in Marvel 3 was named Bengus. I admire his style.
If you plan to draw her, let it rip! DO IT! Take the challenge and draw it, man. Improvements always show when you are constantly drawing.
