I see this more as a drawing than a painting, since the drawing took waaaay longer than the watercolour washes (starting watercolour practice now because I'll have a watercolour class starting in September).Some fun Diablo 3 fan art.
Anyway, I think I failed at making Imperius look 'valorous'... my brother says he looks sad >.> oh well. With how these archangels have no facial features I've found a new appreciation in the talents and skills of the artists at Blizzard. It's not easy to make a character look a certain way when you don't have a face to work with. I need more practice

With reference to his sadness, I think it's because of his spear pointing downwards, at least in part. It's like he's got tired of his old war and can hardly hold his weapon up anymore.

The Aspect of Valor, Imperius! They made him act like a jerk in Diablo 3, he got was coming to him. XD I love the details and effort you put into this.

Thanks! Yeah I need to do more. I've been so slack since Spring semester ended. It's a good thing summer classes started yesterday, because I needed that poke to get going again. It was a good break though. What about you? How's your summer so far?

My summer has been good! I haven't stopped arting- I haven't even played any videogames, it's odd! And there's Skyrim, sitting there all unfinished.

I am taking Astronomy, Narrative Storytelling, and Clothed Figure 2.
I drew maybe one sketch a week during the break. Spent most my time out or just being lazy on the couch. Figured I deserved it after that hectic semester xD And don't feel bad about Skyrim, I STILL haven't finished Assassins Creed... the first one. lol.

This is beautiful. Honestly i wouldn't have thought he looked sad if i hadn't read the artist comments. now i cant help but think he looks sad just because of that. Other than that he dose look quite valorous. I think his spear helps him with that.

I haven't played Diablo 3 at all, but this looks awesome - reminds me of Mr Jack's 'Tyrael' sketch, I like the sepia tones - could see this integrating in a menu/loading screen/behind the scenes tour of a game. Keep with the watercolors, if this is any indication there's a lot more awesome to come!

I played through the first difficulty setting of Diablo3 with my brother. The game is ok, but I don't really feel like I have to continue playing it, unless it is to stare at the AMAZING game art, and to play through the story again. Or to play with my brother. Both the story and the art are top quality.
