Oh this is so beautiful. Sometimes I think of devaintart as a treasure hunt. You can find lots of good art, or gold, some not as good art, silver, some bad art, fools gold, but it's rare that you find gems. This I consider to be a gem that I've found on this wonderful website. The colors are so beautiful. They are done really well, and they all go together fantastically. It's very pleasing for the eye. The dress is magnificent. I love all the little details in the design and the hat. The background is very pretty and really completes the picture. As a whole, this picture is uplifting. She is a beautiful girl who isn't flaunting her stuff like every other drawing of a woman on deviantart, and so that makes this a refreshing break from the monotony. It's a peaceful picture and it overall just makes me happy. Great work! You've got some serious talent, and I'm glad that I've found this.

I'm soo happy to read your comment. Thanks so much. It's definitely something I have trouble with, everyone on DA making smexxy women drawings non-stop.. and I'm seriously happy that I've met someone who has this opinion too!

when I saw this, I screamed INDIA!!! I also thought of Cambodia at the same time and how deities are painted in a period before christ were born and Religion was the forefront of society. Or so I think.

Thanks! I'm so happy it reminded you of India. I was definitely inspired by the old statues and paintings where figures and anatomy seem to have their own rules, and I adore the lovely decorations on old Indian work.
Now I'm inspired to do more!

If you are inspired, you should look at some books about Cambodia. I'm not sure if the sources are reliable, but somewhere there should be a good one. There's another place you can go to.

thanks! I am becoming more and more interested in Buddhism and Hinduism, and especially the kinds of art that stem from them.. Cambodia would be wonderful.

!!!! OMG you posted it! You finished it! Or at least, you faced it head on like an earthbender and won the starecontest! I'm so proud of you XD
The dress turned out like a DREAM, and the background compliments the atmosphere so well. I like how the colors of the flowers return in the decoration of the dress, even though it has a few very different coloring/lineart styles it's still harmonious together. <3

yeah, the flowers on her head are really different, dunno if I should change that someday.. but I was just happy I'd stopped putting hats and cats on her head.
