Description Oil on canvas. 18"x24".

This painting wasn't quite as influenced by Yes as much as it was by Roger Dean.

It is based on a highly embellished childhood memory of a pond near my house up in Kalamazoo, Mich. where I am originally from. The pond would freeze up in Winter and flotsam that would collect along the shore would be partially covered in snow.

Yeah, I like how you made the whole ice sculpture of crystals look like a Egyptian sphynx by some frozen lake shores, and yes that's some fine lake view surrounded by winter chills galore.

Thank you. Piles of branches, ice and snow used to collect along the shore of the pond near my childhood home. I exaggerated it here for artistic effect.

Yeah, that's pretty understandable. Plus with the Lake Michigan shores not far from Kalamazoo. You sure get a fine view of the lake that's for sure.

I'm glad you like it. If you see a human profile it wasn't intentional, though.

So it is incredible because the small ice block, on the right, has an open mouth, a nose, an eye and a hat ^^ Perhaps I have too much imagination. And thank you so much for accepting the requests for my group

Great! In some way it reminds me of Caspar David Friedrich.

Actually, I had the illustrator, Roger Dean in mind to a degree when I painted this. However, Friedrich is my favorite landscape painter and a definite influence on me. One of my favorite paintings is Friedrich's "The Abbey in the Oakwood".

I would be glad to have such talented artist in my group.
The whole purpose behind it is to promote those anonymous yet skilled artists. However, that cannot be done if there are so little members. That's why I'm trying hard to get people.

Thank you. Much of my work is based on memories of childhood which I then enhance.
