Description Oil on canvas. 18"x24".

This was the very first painting I did when I started to seriously pursue painting.

I painted it in January, 1999.
All I wanted to do was some kind of snow and ice painting.
It was completely spontaneous.

The image isn't the greatest. It's a photo of a photo so a bit of the detail and tiny bit of yellow I have in it is hard to see. Otherwise, it's not too bad.

Some of the ice look like people dancing.

It wasn't meant to but that's OK. I actually did use human forms to go by (loosely) when I created some of the organic imagery in "The Alchemist".

Thank you. Even though I live in Florida, about a third of my paintings have snow and ice in them.

I'm originally from Michigan and my first memories of my childhood there are still some of my most vivid and many of these memories are of ice and snow.
I guess Winter scenes represent a certain longing in me or something.

Thank you. This is a dig. photo of a 4"x6" 35mm photo that's in my portfolio, so it's a little too cropped off on the top and right side.
I'll find the negative eventually and have Walmart put it onto a disc. It should look a little better.

Wow! A photo of a photo! Really though, it looks pretty good considering. I would be delighted to see the original.
Again, excellent imagery and very inspiring to me personally.
Take c@re!
